Yes, There should be an update on February 17
after last weekends weird rankings google have continued to be completely random. Firstly, the small site that completely recovered from the December core update, Friday evening they (google) re-triggered their filter on it, as a whole the site got slapped back down, product pages all went from good positions to nowhere, the content is really good as well which is frustrating as google say produce good content. I honestly would look at it and think yeah, that should be ranking there and probably should be better with some links involved (all pages on the top few pages SERPS are buying links). One page went from page 2 to page 8, and that's one of the better stories.
As for the site that recovered in December and got slapped down last weekend, what google are doing there is anyones guess. Most keywords well down with some bouncing all over, a few have never moved but there is no reasoning for what's going on with this. Terrible that google can just switch a switch and you are there or not, for one, how can that be good for their users?
oh and some right rubbish is ranking, as in spun content. For the first site, the page I mentioned down on page 8, just gone through the SERPS, page 3, is one that's been there for ages so just had a look, complete nonsense. Spun and makes no sense at all, here is one random sentence "Bet is include involves? You, result, other house of: selection a, number christie one produces to on! ". Why should people bother trying to produce quality content when that crap ranks 5 pages above proper quality. I said there isn't many pages at the minute, but the main crime probably will be that I HAVEN'T bought any links. Frustrated beyond belief today
