So I run a site for this purpose.
first, you need to actually rank for some terms, or in some way. Because the niche of this site is visual, I rank for images, and provide free tools. I drive traffic through social channels as well(on automation).
When I put the plan together to build this site, selling links wasn’t my only plan, I also intended to put up ads, and use affiliates for a 3 level profit plan.
I started by putting up over 300 articles, all interlinked heavily, all niche focused
I sell 2 types of links: guest posts and niche edits.
I charge more for niche edits, basing it on the ranking of the page.
If I put up a guest post, I promise front page for x amount of time, then put up posts to bury it off the front page, but always treat it as a post, and interlink other posts to it.
I refuse to sell posts or edits for non-niche relevant sites.
I also accept free guest posts, but it has to be high quality work, 1500-2000 words, formatted and keyword focused for ranking. Can not be identified as spun by a native reader(me).
My paid guest posts can supply a minimum of 500 words, can be spun, but must pass copyscape and be readable.
For an extra fee, I also offer to provide the guest post, as I have a library of about 300 more articles for the site and am continually sourcing more articles, sometimes buying them and not posting for a year.
Most articles link to other sources, even if I am putting them up just as filler.
- example: in the fashion niche, you won’t beat vogue, so I link to them.
I also offer ads, for a flat fee on non-high ranking pages.
