Optimising my Ecommerce store selling CBD Oil

Hello! I launched an Ecommerce store selling CBD Oil in the UK. While the website has been live for 2 years, I have only been building backlinks and creating new content for the last 12 - 14 months. The website works as a vendor marketplace, allowing companies to create an account and sell directly through the platform.

In regards to backlink building, I have a list of links my closest competitors have and been steady building a similar backlink profile.

The reason why I am posting is to hopefully gain some clarification as to whether I am headed in the right direction? The website receives around 500 clicks per month, but I kindve feel this should be larger due to the amount of brands, products and blog posts we have.

In terms of backlink building, I have a list which has around 10 - 15 websites which my competitors have and I am waiting on a price - would this be the right move to purchase?

The aim would be to start appearing for the following terms:

cbd oil for sale
cbd gummies
cbd muscle balm

+ variants.

I would love to know your thoughts in this area.

I mean SEO for the shop website is kinda a pain in the ass if you want to get it going. This is why most people focus on bringing traffic from other sources when they start their shop such as Adwords/Facebook ads. The website itself is very nice and well designed but it's lacking some basic SEO optimization... Especially when it comes to the content, but fixing it for every or most of the products is gonna cost a lot of work and isn't gonna pay off right away. That might get you demotivated because SEO is a long-run effort.

Thanks for the feedback. Well, I have a digital marketing agency, so I am used to this kind of work however this is the first time venturing into Ecommerce for my own project. Could you elaborate on the basic SEO optimisation which is missing? Are you referring to the main pages or the product pages?

Like, the biggest issue is the copied content used by your vendors or either you. I don't know who submits these products.

As you can see Google is aware of where is the content coming from as it's ranking your site right after the article source if you copy-paste the entire thing.

I'm not saying that copy-pasting a product's description is bad for your shop completely as many shops still do that but it's definitely bad if you want to bring organic traffic coming from the search engine. You need to have unique content.

Ah ok, that makes sense. I previously read that Google would not see this as duplicate content as there is a valid reason for it. The website is actually a vendor marketplace, so the vendors upload their products and content, hence why it is duplicate.
