Am I cannibalizing my keyword?

Article 1: Ranks #1 for a product comparison. Doesn't mention anything to do with the product review but ranks for "product review" on page 2.

Article 2: Just published to target "product review"

Will the fact that article #1 ranks for the keyword even though it doesn't mention it at all or have any anchor text point to it stating "review" have a negative effect on the ranking of my article #2?

No it should not cause cannibalizations. Google will ultimately take a better page which talks directly about the review and then rank it on those queries.
