Hi guys,
I was recently trying to look to resell servers and I found netcup.eu
Their root servers are extremely cheap! But why?
I can't find any other hosting service that does this prices, can anyone help me?

They are cheap, but not super cheap. Similar to sandbox OVH VPS versions for example
And you have to pay 6 months in advance
Maybe you can use them to test your market, but I would prefer to go straightly with at least one dedicated server and divide it by myself.

It might be their strategy for getting new customer.

That's a great idea. So buy a full dedicated server and split it up into smaller root servers?
Also, they are not super cheap? How? I literally can't see any provider beating it, especially with 2.5 GB/s uplink.
If you could show me one, I'd be grateful! The OVH sandboxes are much more expensive!!

There is always a catch when something is very cheap, for example, it can be a yearly subscription minimum.
That's what I thought! But it turns out that isn't the case.

Yeah, I have to admit that the 2.5GB/s uplink is awesome. I didn't see that piece.

Are you related to this provider? Tell us more about it.

when you are selling openvz servers its easy to lower your price and way over sell the server.

They are KVM AFAIK

@zayd1k Hetzner is fairly similar. They offer the same uplink and prices are more or less the same

I am not related to them, no. But I saw a big company reselling their servers.
I want to do the same, but not with NetCup.
So I tried to find another provider to beat it, but I cant!

Indeed! Looks like I'll have to buy a dedi and split it up using KVM.
Needs alot of calculating though.
Thinking of a 128GB RAM Dedi with 32 core CPU, and splitting up into 16GB RAM root servers with 4 cores. What's your opinion?

I looked and Hetzner is quite more expensive. Do you see any details at the same price?

Yeah, Hetzner is slightly more expensive.

I definitely have to buy one machine and do some testing. The root server prices are nuts? 10€/mo 2 dedicated cores WTF  ?

Cool. Well as others have replied, you now have a path to find their source infrastructure providers.

Just make sure you read the contract terms properly. Most people don't read and get stressed when they realize they need to cancel at least 31 days in advance if they don't want a server any more (i.e. if an invoice gets generated, you're in for the whole month). That's the usual source of complaints on the web about netcup.

They have their own infrastructure, they're not resellers.

I see. I'm going to try and find a bare metal and split it up into root servers - then resell them. I just need a guide on how to do this, is there anything out there? I know I have to use KVM..
