Alright, before I begin, I consider myself experienced in dropshipping field, but still a failure. I do this since 2016. Whatever I say here is not based only on my opinion, my websites, creatives has been seen by other experienced persons too.

I feel like I can't crack the code.

In this 5 years with long and short brakes of my dropshipping journey I learnt FB ads, tested a fucking ton of different strategies, made hundreds of posts on different IG pages, learnt how to create converting videos, beautiful websites, had ROAS of 20x, 2k days. Tried saturated, unfuckingtapped, mid-saturated, new and absolutely a shit ton of products and still fucking can't make sustainable income from it. I am starting to feel like I am cursed or something. Or just a retard in general.

Almost every website I created in the past received sales form the very begging. The issue is that I could stay profitable for one month. Maybe max 2 months. And I didn't do same stuff again and again, tried to implement new things, but cost per purchase got higher and higher on every shop.

I can't even count how many times I failed.

I think I can't count how many new stores I opened.
I remember one time Facebook gave me assistant to help me to scale. It was a great product I was profitable with it, I started scaling it, she (assistant) helped me with it. And one day sales just stopped for no fucking reason, I tried new creatives, LLA's, new interests, different placements, countries, but cost per purchase still went from $10 to $50-60. And the funny part is I am on the phone with the assistant and asking, can you please tell me why is this happening, my feedback score is good, everything is fine, why price went from $10 to $50 in one day. She looks at campaigns for few minutes in silence. And tells me: I am sorry I have no idea, everything seems perfect I don't know why CPP is so high. Then we never talked again...

I thought never-mind I will find something new, tested few new products, found one that could be something and Facebook started disabling my ad accounts for no reason. Absolutely no fucking reason. They disabled one account, then the second. Then I wasn't even using FB ads at all and in meantime they disabled my BM. I appealed and wasn't using Fb ads at all for 2 months and in that time they revoked my advertising privileges at all. Okay I thought I will figure something out.

Then I thought I need to make something different.

I ordered some stock of the perfect product for Valentine's day. I shot custom videos, images of the product and it looked amazing. Found who want to put it on their BM since mine is banned and of course first day of advertising we received 7 sales. I thought of course there is no reason for it to not work, product is great, no one uses the same creative, website and copy is amazing. And then comes second, third day with absolutely 0 sales. Tried different interest, VV LLA's, but still managed to make 0 sales. There wasn't enough time to test it more since product was Valentine's day related.

I felt fucking retarded to put so much work in to just fail.

I moved on I started trying new products, but now however all the times I received 0 fucking sales every fucking time on every fucking new product I tried.

So in the last few months I haven't earned a single fucking dollar just keep losing money on ads IG posts not counting the stock I ordered.

Please let me know in the comments am I a retard or something?

The one last shot.

So I decided to take it one more shot a bit differently.

Now I picked a saturated niche, but created a website and branded the shit out of. Using only US suppliers. (Don't get me wrong I created branded stores in the past, but this one is extra super duper branded)
Created IG page uploaded quality photos, bought social proof for it, page has 10k followers, likes on every post and looks like a legitimate brand.

The plan is to make it look like a real brand, contact real IG influencers ship them products, offer 20% of the sales they can make.
Also, order products to myself after CNY, take IG worthy photos and upload it to IG everyday.

What I did:
Posted 2 times on different IG pages made absolutely 0 sales.
Set a giveaway and posted a giveaway on pretty big IG page. Seemed like nobody gave a fuck about that giveaway.
Contacted 30 influencers on email and IG offering them a fucking free product, they just needed to accept it and not a single one responded. They don't even need free stuff or what?

Anyway, will continue on this, will fucking feed it with my own money, let's set a time frame, for 2 months maybe? If it I won't be profitable after 2 months I will proudly say that dropshipping, ecom and whole IM is DEAD.

I won't say that, but I will definitely take a break from DS.

I was sticking to the one method for the last 5 years and I feel stupid for it. I learnt so much and I feel sad about it because all that skills I have is worthless because I can't make money with them.

Anyway, I am also looking for other methods to try, but it seems difficult to me since I was sticking to one thing all the time and don't have experience in other things. I am open to hear your suggestions on new stuff, maybe with the skills I have or not necessary

Alright folks, I'll update update this.

On the serious note. I read a lot of books about how to achieve your goals, motivate yourself and that there is no success without failure. But fail for 5 fucking years, really? For the first time in a while I don't feel mentally good. I am not about to give up, but feeling mentally tired.

Place your bets, how long it will take for me to succeed? Will I give up?

Sorry for long read.

stop digging for gold; start selling shovels. I hope you catch what I mean?
However, if you choose to continue pursuing it, it's very likely you'd make something good out of it. I chased a particular goal for close to 10 years, and guess what? I'm glad I didn't give up along the line, because now, it's paying off. It comes down to how badly you wanna succeed, and that, to a large extent, depends on how much you're willing to learn from your mistake. If you ask me, I'd say you're on the right path :)

I don’t know what to say, i feel motivated by your post so thanks and all the best i wish you got your due success

Yeah, I tried to sell and design stores for others, also create videos, but it seemed super hard to get clients and doesn't seemed to be very scalable. However, I wasn't putting enough effort in this, if I put at least half of work I put into what I am doing now, who knows maybe it would work better.

I keep doing it because I know it. It's easy for me because I have skills for it. But it's hard mentally to fail over and over again. And ecom in general is what I enjoy. But as I mentioned it's the last shot if I won't make it I will try something else.

you have to be proud of your product. Would you tell your mom to buy your product knowing it is marked up by 200-400%?

Instant turnaround!

Facebook ads are extremly hard these days. Accounts getting suspended left and right and you need a high budget.

With marketplaces like Etsy,Amazon,eBay - you have a very minor investment comparing to FB ads. the traffic is already there so you don't lose a penny on any visitor.

You can easily detect those bestsellers products with tools like Zik Analytics

I was actually thinking to dropship from USA suppliers on etsy. But heard that it's very easy to get your account suspended too. What's your take on that?

Once you figure out how to work properly - you can reduce your chances to get suspended by 90%.

Dont give up you are in the righ path of success you have learnd a lot of ship you have every ingredient ti be a successful in dropshipping.

Good luck

go forth and conquer.

here is a tip: try to purchase stock and fulfill the orders yourself. get creative, what can you ship on your own that is easy. down the line you can get a fulfilment center

i'm testing a site right now, something TOTALLLLY different. not dropshipping, but it is ecom, i have a shopify store

i'm confident my store is going to blow. why? because i just executed a critical step in this entire process, and guess what? my execution was perfect. i got the result i wanted, which means i have a "free pass" so to speak.

in effect, i can do whatever the fuck i want now. only thing left for me to do is finish the store, wait for my stock, then just pump the fuck out of facebook ads and watch the sales roll in. my marketing angle should be good enough, and if it isn't, i can always contort it and tweak it to be whatever i want it to be, and thus get people opening up their wallets for me

this is some high level shit that i'm doing to be honest

I tried this I even made my own content to stand out, but it failed miserably. You know when you test a product and it fails, it feels bad, but when you order it, make content for it, edit videos for it and it fails, it feels twice as bad.

I feel like I am doing high level shit too now, creating a real brand promoting it with real influencers. It fails now, but we will see in 2 months.

how long have you been trying this?

here is some solid advice: just quit.

hear me out. take a BREAK, for now. just stop dropshipping for 1 month straight. then after that 1 month come back to it

then just research. don't make stores, don't launch anything. just read. look at other people's stores. look at videos. pirate some free dropship courses by those "gurus" and just watch them

after you read and watch all that content, stop and think "what is something that i haven't tried yet", then go do that

my current site is something i have not tried at all, and i've been doing ecom for about a year

so my advice: try DIFFERENT shit. not just a slight tweak. try a completely different marketing angle

Ouch! Similar life story with me (but 2 years instead of 5).

I learned a lot doing dropshipping but I opted to drift away from the tradittional model (paid traffic). Last year I partened with a content creator and launched a YT channel 100% organic traffic.

Zero ad spending. As a general rule, we opted for building everything in organic traffic on every platform we are in. I know it will take longer, but the idea is to optimize contents as much as we can. It is harder now, it will be easier later. As a freemium brand project, we build the audience with free content = warm prospects = easier to convert into clients. FB advertising is mostly cold ungaged traffic that tends to cost more over time as the platform get saturated. Idem IG. It will be a time where there will be (almost) no new platforms, so space will be kind of limited. So I rather construct my own pond and fish there: a real audience for my own brand.

Everything about the project in my journey:https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/journey-launching-my-brand-youtube-udemy-ds-store-more.1267883/
