you need friends in your life, probably lol?
I would keep the ones who are true friends.
The rest, is really whatever honestly, then again my opinion on friends.

I used to, but in all honesty, even when I have the time to answer my phone now I can't be bothered, the topic of conversation has no appeal and yes... I feel like a massive arsehole even saying that :D I got one old friend from day 1 who is like a brother, we dont talk for months and then pick up where we left off, the rest maybe try and squeeze some time in or just fuck it and see what happens

Family is all that matters. Think of your children/wife as friends for life. (Obviously depends on how much you like your wife)

Ask yourself, do you see yourself still being friends with them in 10/20/30 years time? If the answer is no, you've got your answer.

Think about it this way, is the time you are spending following your dreams worth it? Are you willing to sacrifice friends for the possibility of financial freedom?

You're probably gonna regret it at some time. Finding a good balance is important. No money in the world can replace the good times with your loved ones.

The road to success is a lonely one

See, thats the two flip sides... balance seems to be the key point on everyone's mind but surely at the beginning there has to be an overriding focus that gets you to success- past all the other people who are half-assing it, and putting in work 8 hours a day? My thinking for the last few months has been to push hard and eventually it will all level out to a lot less work but more projects pop up taking up more time.

This can get very addictive. Once you taste the results, you'll want more and more.

You'll keep telling yourself "i want to make x / month and then I'll take it slow, but that might not happen as you just want to build up MORE.

By that time, you Might not have any friends left because you ignored everyone and they will just despise your success. Hopefully you will have your family because you gave them attention at least.

But i feel you.. i can get zoned in the same way. I could even go without eating the whole day.
I sometimes tell myself "if only I had one year to myself..ALONE to do all the things that I want, without responsibilities..I would get there!"

but Then, looking back at what I've achieved so far and the fact that I want MORE every time I reach my goal, I know that I would never be satisfied just with a career / big income.

A stable family is a far more important, And having a few other people around you is healthy and keeps you motivated. (Deep down we all seek some form of validation from our peers and sharing(Not bragging) your success stories with someone other than your wife and kid feels good.

So do keep in touch, at least answer Some calls from the people you want to keep around.

I understand your point. It's important to husle if you want to suceed at anything. Doing this 16-18 hours a day (as you described) might work for some time but its definitely not a permanent solution. You're probably not Elon Musk. You have a kid at home that needs your attention. Make some time for him, you still have plenty of time for your business. Let's be honest, most people half ass it anyways so even if you only commit to it fulltime (8-9 hours) you're probably ahead of the others who still have regular day jobs.
