If I was a billionaire, then I would launch a search engine which gave quality information to the user.

It's very much needed, a search engine which shows you high quality articles about what you actually search about and want to know.

Google is messed up and I think it's all about money, they like click baity articles which can drive huge traffic to the ads doesn't matter If it provides any quality information to the user but a wall of 2000 words, because that's all what matters.

There's needs to be a great search engine which doesn't index articles based on how many word counts are in it.

It should de-index all scammy sites.

It should be of high quality that it keeps different ideas about a topic in 1 page not 1 page full of articles talking about the same thing.

Take YouTube for instance, 10 years ago videos were short, very informative and straight to the point but it didn't generate much of the revenue and now every video has 2 minutes of useless intros, lack info and very click baity because longer videos generate much more traffic.

It is somewhat closer to the point, countries with high population have lower standard of life while countries with low population is likely to have a great standard of life.

Bringing only less and quality stuff doesn't bring profit and startups are very prone to losses. I have my hopes if apple is working on their new search engine.

I would like to see a search engine with real time user feedback playing a role in the results. Like Reddit, you would be able to upvote and downvote results based on quality. But there would also be impartial reviewers like Wikipedia. They would screen new websites for indexing and give them a ranking to start. They would not be able to review every single page on a website, that would be time and cost prohibitive, but they could look at general quality so that utter junk does not get indexed. Then users decide what floats to the top, but any sudden spike in positive or negative votes would lead to a manual review to make sure nobody is manipulating the results.

I would also like the ability to see different groups of results for the same keywords based on factors I choose. For example, products from small businesses, handmade products, companies that share my values. I am tired of just getting Amazon as the top result (and competing with Amazon for the top result) even when they don’t actually have the products I want. I would love the option to support a smaller business, but they are difficult to find in some categories.

I actually like bing. If I was the owner I would focus on growing the userbase, I can't believe they don't do better marketing. Ecosia is also good, it should have a much larger audience.

I completely agree about youtube. It annoys me a lot that I have to waste 20 minutes to find a piece of information. Imo this is why blogs and written content has a future no matter how everyone is saying that video will take over. In an article, you can get to the point in a second.
