Hi guys,

Hope someone can help me.

I transferred money to a recent address in my metamask wallet but I never transfer money to other people using metamask so I don't know how the address got there.

Hope someone can help me to see which address this might be: Ethereum Transaction Hash (Txhash) Details | Etherscan

Thanks a lot!

That's not how crypto works mate.. you screw up transfers and there's not any way of getting it back unless someone else chooses to send it back.

@VSYNC

Yes, I'm well aware of how stupid this mistake is, but I don't understand how this address got in recent.

Also, I seem to have transferred once earlier to this address so it might be an address that I own but I don't know which one it might be.

You can't get it back
You should have sent it to my ETH:p:oops::oops::oops:

i think you sent eth to pool address. It has over 2mil$.
New lesson for you, always copy paste address, don't let browser suggests.

That's 7 days ago, so try to recollect where you Transfered that ether.

its gone dude.
maybe you can check why that address in your recent?

Yes, that's the odd thing and apparently, I've transferred already to it before 7 days ago but cannot recall it.

It looks like a contract address.. If you know whose it is then you can ask them to return it back.

Also just for future txs... If you make a tx and it is not completed yet then send some ETH to yourself.. It will cancel the previous one.. :)

There was a hack that was circulating last year, changes the address that you send to another one very similar, basically generates an address with the same beginning and ending as yours but it"s different, maybe it's that.

I'm sorry for your loss bro, the crypto world is this, sometimes a bit too harsh.

Thanks, it's my own stupid fault but I don't understand why metamask has this feature it is dangerous as fuck...

Reached out to metamaks, I think a scammer reached out to me on the chat.

Apparently I send it to an exchange which I've used to buy a specific altcoin, happy I found out about it.
