Laziness, Excuses - How to overcome?

I think it depends on your personality,
When I was starting my business I wasn't motivated at all..
.. what did work for me at that point, was some very rough words about life
like this for instance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C167s9nEHRU
It helped me realize a simple fact,
you have to face the reality
your life is about you, if u do nothing, nothing will happen

That was about two years ago,
About year ago I have come to the point where I can satisfy my consumer needs with what I earn. Now, if I have reached that limit why I need more money? why to work?
This is really demotivating.

If you are in similar position then I suggest you think about your personality, who are you and what is that you really want. It will take you some time, but it is worth it. Because maybe what you really need is not to expand your business but to stabilize it and try something completely new. Maybe you are just bored from sitting in front of LCD..

hope it helps

Having an online friend in the biz (where you both hold each other accountable) can be a big motivator ... especially if he or she starts doing better than you.

I've been trying to find a partner who understands this or I should say is willing to learn for awhile. Trying to do everything myself just isn't cutting it for sure.

I'm more of the technical person, but when it comes to the writing etc... I get stuck everytime.

Thats been my biggest problem, I tend to over "anal"yze things, which leads to doubt, which leads to procrastination. It's tough I know what you mean.
I'm also going to guess that when things become painful enough that you do find a way to solve your problems.

Gotta love the subconcious mind, it definately likes to fuck with the concious mind.

You just need to get enough leverage on yourself.
Honestly, admitting you have a problem is a hell of a step, now you just need to catch it and correct it immediately when you catch yourself.
There isnt a magic bullet or pill, ( I won't even go into a rant about meds.)

Try to immerse your self in things that inspire you, play up tempo music, listen to positve speeches, get pissed at yourself, I'll verbally chew my own ass when I'm being a selfish lazy ass. Find something that do motivates you and keep that as close to you as you can at all times, so you have it when you feel yourself getting off track.

Who cares what others think about your tatics this is your life you need to take control, because it will not fix itself on its own.
I wasted several years of my life thinking it would just get better...

sometimes I wonder if this is my problem or if it's just information overload. I think there is only 3000 different ways to do 1 thing.

I've got to get my ass in gear for sure.

brings me to a point. where the hell do I start :P

break big projects down to small, small tasks.

do all similar tasks at one time to prevent multiple logins to services, etc.

take Potasium Nitrate to prevent distraction from the p0rn on the p0rn
forums you monetize on. lol ( just kidding - a better way is to monetize
p0rn niches that you are not personally interested in )

The best trick I know when it comes to writer's block is to simply switch off my monitor when I'm writing.

This is what I do when I need to crack out an article:

  1. Open notepad/Openoffice Writer etc.
  2. Switch off my monitor
  3. Start writing

I find that it keeps me from editing my sentences as I write them and this makes me pump out more words per minute.

Once I'm done braindumping I switch on my monitor again and starts to edit the text.

This way I can get completely creative and worry about technical stuff like punctuation, spelling, paragraphs etc. later.

Procrastination is not the problem, it's the symptom. You probably should double-check for depression or stress disorder.

Believe me, I know what I'm talking about.

.

You know I believe this for a long time, because another thing a lot of people like to say is 'i'm bored' which could be the symptom of something else. How can you be bored in 2010.

I usually get lazy or loose concentration on my project when I've been working on it for too long.. it other words.. I've been sitting home doing IM for too long. Now I usually take a brake between work.. a walk trough the forest helps me clear thoughts.

Another thing I noticed is that I'm more active at night.. when everyone sleeps I'm working on new methods how to make money and usually I implant them right away.

Most of ideas come in mind when we're in bed, lying and getting ready to sleep.

A chunky dose of reality will do the trick. Put yourself in the shoes of a broke ass homeless person, go ahead and spend one FULL night outside on the streets.

Yeah, nothing like a brutal real world wakeup call to get you motivated.

Get a huge whiteboard and write daily tasks on it, and use "the action machine" (it's on here somewhere) for the tasks.

Try Paul Scheele "Get Around To It" or Wendi's Do It Now (Stop Procrastination). It helped me.

Listen to this man. I would ignore all other posts and listen to this one.

When I am doing well in my social life and have good companionship, I do great in nearly every aspect of my life.

Right now I'm not doing so well, and I sure am a bit depressed. I think way too much about myself.

However, whenever I come back from a social event, I feel great and I work my arse off.

Solution: Get out more! Make some close friends! etc, etc.
