The way we are using, depleting and polluting the resources of this planet, soon this whole planet will push us to extinction one way or another. Then why not look for other planets in the universe to create artificial environment or make them habitable and make the way for humanity to survive? I really don't see any issue here. When there will be no earth as we know today, how Sahara will even exist? Sahara or Antarctica could become ocean by then.

The age of the earth is billions of years and I'm sure there had been 1000s or lot more civilizations like us who flourished and got extinct in the past, not sure if any of them even made their way to keep their species alive somehow.

Earth, Mars, pluto they don't have a problems, you take the humans to heaven they will still screw up and make the mess there, no matter where humans this will happen I guess. (just my opinion)

A human colonization on Mars is not possible in near-future, simply because no human would want to live there, it's after all a big cold desert where you can never breath fresh air or look outside without a protective glass in-between, it would be worse than any prison on Earth.

Whether it was SpaceX or another company I would gladly give my life to be an early explorer of the red planet.
Sure, it would be a one-way trip and may not even arrive, but for the greater good, I would love to attempt it. I know many people feel the same as I do.

Also, I would not call Elon a scammer. At the very worst I would call him overly-optimistic. If he were a scammer Tesla would have never delivered, SpaceX would have never launched and better batteries wouldn't have been produced. And sure, his companies stocks are overvalued but I see this as more of a by-product of an overly ambitious visionary than a scammer.

As far as your claims on him manipulating gen Z.. I'd rather live in a world where our richest humans at least pretend to interact with society rather than a bunch of secret billionaires whose personalities are largely kept private. (Mark Zuck, Soros, Jeff Bezos)

Mars is already a dead planet, how much further can it be destroyed? Even the most apocalyptic scenerios of Earth is more habitable than Mars. Even Meteorite impacts couldn't destroy life on Earth, whereas in Mars nothing can grow.

And imagine a kid born in Mars, never seeing Earth, would you want to be that kid? Such a person would give an arm and leg to be relocated to Earth, never to step foot on Mars ever again. I repeat there is NOTHING on Mars, it's vast emptiness, maybe a cool place for a touristic visit but a hell to live. Even the most basic humanly things we do here, like going to the beach, would be impossible to do there. No one and i repeat, NO ONE would want to be permanent on Mars, especially if you're not the first person doing, so history won't remember you for your sacrifice.

yeah spend like 10 billion but in return bill gates earn a more than 200+ billion by selling vaccine mostly go to bill & Melinda foundation those vaccine ain't free what free is research and developing like what normal company do such phizer and moderna and they sell those vaccine to afracian government.
10 billion is nothing compare to he's overall wealth while elon betting he's entire fortune for a company that may or may-not work. most of them solving problem that are in the long term or for unforeseen future. that humanity might face. but betting all you have for the sake of the greater good is something that more admirable concept of majority of people, vs other billionaire that pledge some of there fortune for something but in the process earn more that sound kinda scam I think Mark zuckerberg doing same shit that's why people don't like other billionaire being sneaky don't empress people.

Self driving cars will be delivered with or without Musk, Elon Musk is not contributing to the advancement of the GPUs, the main driving force behind the acceleration of AI technology. He's just capitalizing on it.

And trips to Mars cannot be compared to self driving cars or any other developments in AI, Artificial Intelligence is niche of the near future, it's already influencing our daily lives, meanwhile no one has been to Moon since Apollo program, why? because there is no point of sending people to Moon after the first time.

He's done some interesting things in tech & he makes a lot of grandstanding claims - but he's also selling a vision of spacetravel for consumers that a lot of people want to see realized in their lifetime. So it gives people hope, and I can understand people believing it.

But what I find more interesting is the subsection of his following - this diehard community of incel/alt-right followers that worship him.

Hah, i'm not saying Elon is a scammer because there is no market for space voyage, i'm calling him scammer because his vision of space colony is impossible, and he's selling this dream to influence the youth and create his own follower cult, which then he uses to profit from other projects.
