I am confused with this observation. I was of opinion that DA will generally improve over time and won't degrade.

Observation: My site was ranking 200k something in Alexa some time back and now the ranking has reduced to 2.7M.
Ranking is not the issue. But the DA has also reduced from 14 to 10.

Can anyone tell me if reduced traffic amounts to reduced DA.
Note: Backlink profile has improved over time (They are not spammy at all and are only like 150 Backlinks in last 2 years). What are your opinions?

SEO metrics is nothing to do with traffic. It is by backlinks.

do you add some backlinks before traffic goes down?

I don't know how to answer your question, but i will try my best.
The traffic on my site was not much organic but mostly derived from social media, so it was ephemeral. When i stopped marketing last year around august, the traffic dropped as a result, but yes i started building backlinks after that. I am adding my site stats which can help in conclusion.

You should regulary post some guest posts and never stop to keep traffic and DA.
150 links for 2 years is very low.
Do at least 4-5 Guest Posts per month and it's will go fine.

that was pretty long time, ofcourse traffic goes down so are the site metrics, you didnt improve anything.

few months back google update rolling out pretty often, may, dec, january that was mostly giving impact i guess.

This is one of my sites I abandoned that got hit by dec update,
im not planning to improve it in the near future, no article update and backlinks, so no recover traffic till now.

so is your site, if you dont improve anything, it just gonna keep going down.

Thanks KEEN-G , your arguments make sense. I was just worried that there something negative on my site that's reducing DA. But your points suggest that there's nothing new which is affecting DA. I just wanted to confirm that i am not going in wrong direction (infact not doing anything). Now i can work on improving traffic without fear.
