Do link exchanges still work? I know it is bad to link to link farms, but if you are exchanging a link with another site that is relavint to your site does it still help your rankings?

If it's relevant, it can still help with SERPs, though it's not as effective as one-way links. Make sure you write your anchor text well.

Your anchor text should reflect the search phrases that you're trying to increase your SERPs for. So, for example, if you're trying to increase your SERPs for "Widget A" then you should have people link to your site with the phrase "Widget A" or "Widget A's from YourSite" etc.
