Nanoblog Project - Follow Along

I am starting a nanoblog already, have choosen my niche and my problem is the WP theme to use since i can't afford Thesis theme or do anyone know how to get that? Please advice on the theme.

all i have been doing is blog/twitter and hootsuite/ping updates and im averaging 70+ visitors with about two posts/day and 2-3 updates/day. Twitter Friend Adder is great (a tool I found on bhw) I have been very busy lately so i am anticipating going through the google alerts and forums...
...also im implementing a very gentle strategy to use wp guardian on one of my pages ... Ill let you know how it goes
..I still have no idea what socialbot does or the reason for it xD

As far as Twitter I have had about 11 vistors but the thing is twitter seems to have become nothing but marketers like you and I, so the visitors you get are just trying to sell youl their stuff, they are not interested in yours.
I have tried several niches and I always get the same results. Most of twitter is automated people following you who have used programs to follow and unfollow majority of twitter accounts don't even read the tweets. Do a test and see for yourself, pick a topic and then do a # search and see how many of the people it returns that don't have a marketing link.
Twitter for the most part has become like those free ad sites ad after ad and the only people looking at the ads are people putting in ads not buyers.
Just my 2 cents.

You are spot on about twitter. I guess we have caught on to it too late. I think these social network platforms are great but sadly abuse by marketers make them ineffective very quickly.
I remember when I used to use yahoo messenger to actually chat to people. Now if you go into any room, even with the most obscure of interest, you are bombarded with bots.
What a shame.
This nanobloggers thing seems like a good way to gain visitors and instill motivation right at the start...but as much as we'd like this to be enough... i dont think we can avoid seo and the big 'ol G and maintain visitors with a decent ctr.... what happens when you max out twitter followers?... that a big plateau in this strategy. I don't know about the rest of the nanobloggers... but I think its time to start thinking about backlinks...............

Hey Dynastic, I checked out your blog and it looks ok. I notice you didn't follow the setup guide as the author outlined and full credit to you for putting your spin on things.
You'll see from my other posts that traffic is pretty poor for me, how are you doing? Have you had any conversions?

Hey Blackhit, I've just read your last entry on the nanobloggers thread and copied it to a text pad file. It was that good. I have never tackled Google/Yahoo groups for traffic but your tactic seems pretty feasible in that sort of environment. have you had any success posting in these groups?

I have success with this tactic, not only in groups but on all community-like properties like forums, YA, etc.
In groups I spread the stages in my story over different posts, usually 3.
First 2 messages to create sympathy by bonding and sharing my experiences.
Last post with the solution.
Yukinari84 shared a nice report on getting traffic from groups today.

Just have one quick question, is nanonblogging where you set up a site and to view the content you put an iframe with a CPA offer that they have to fill out before able to see the site?

No, it's about creating a likeable character that isn't trying to sell anything.
His or her story must make the traffic curious enough to check out the product that makes part of the story.
And hopefully they trust the character and site AND product enough to pull their credit card....

Thanks for the report.
Didn't know I was nanoblogging or gooberting for the longest time, but apparently I have. Well, not exactly, the front page as an ad looks like something I will need to try.
Two things I'd suggest:
1) Try posting some original linkbait once in awhile, resource lists work especially well and require no expertise in the niche.
2) Some simple SEO. Hittail.com will tell you what keywords to go after.. I dig up and write about old stuff all the time... eg.
"I received a question about xxxxx keywords from bob" with the keywords in the title of the post, and then just point to a few pages related to "xxxxx keywords" and you can usually get ranked. You could also take the keywords out of your analytics tool, and just do the research yourself, but hittail requires no time.
Looking at the ebook, it definitely works, but is extremely labor intensive, remember to invest more time in what's growing, and less into what's flatlining. There's no rule that you have to keep posting,and posting... if you keep this up long enough, and Google is sending you visitors.. they wont' stop completely just because the posts slow down despite what Sitesell.com tries to tell you. That's when this becomes worth it... when you're just posting once in awhile, and still making daily sales.

Just a quick update on the nano project. I checked my stats today and got 34 visits from just one comment I made on a website. I was very pleased to see this so I promptly bookmarked the page. I am starting to see some promise in this so my advice is don't give up on nanoblogging just yet. I will have to tweak my action message though because I didn't receive a single click!
I'll let you guys know how things pan out.
