If you can code, you can make money !

Finally a way to flex some of my coding skills, thanks! Can make it even better with some ML ;)

I guess it's like scraping web? I mean using API adding other websites info to yours. And if domain is good the traffic will come some day.. or not. If you'r getting the same info from other website google will not rank you very well.
And it is for sure "not newbies" method. Need to now PHP, something about API's RESTful stuff I guess, JS and so on, not even mentioned simple stuff like how to publish website(hosting, domains,VPS and others....)

Hi mates,

I guess my original post has been misunderstood by many.

Let me be clear: This was just a post assuming some of us CAN code and I aimed to help them make their first $ online.

First, I never told you this was easy, and as the title said « If you can code », I quite do not understand how some of you are waiting for an easy way to go to make money without coding …

I also don’t understand some brainfucked replies like « Are the "users" going to come down from heaven? » or « Seems like I am rich now, thanks. » … (Sorry for not quoting as I'm writing offline as the post might be quite long)

I assume that having this kind of advice is clearly not understanding what BHW is … Sorry, but I had been laughing reading that: clearly you don’t want to read between the lines and find a way to cash out of this …

But as I read some relevant questions here are some hints if you want to follow this way :

Web Hosting and Initial set up (Just a pov, there are many different ways) :
- I strongly recommend having a dedicated server ( it’s affordable if you can handle the sysadmin part … if not then I’d recommend to go for a cheap dedicated server and to start to learn by yourself: there are many tutorials around the web about that and Digital Ocean is a good source to start). If you are new into this I’d recommend to start by digging in this kind of setup : Ubuntu + MariaDB (+mysqltuner) + OpenLitespeed + UFW + fail2ban + Redis + Certbot … and so on
With this kind of setup, you’ll be really fine hosting WordPress based websites (You’ll have free SSL certificates with certbot and great performances using Litespeed cache (+ free version of Cloudflare and quick.cloud enabled in the setup) and jetpack (disable everything but photon – images CDN hosted by WordPress) …
Last, as you’ve got a dedicated server install wp-cli and make all WordPress tasks relying on real cron tasks and disable the fucked up wp-cron in wp-config.php : - JUST ADD : define( 'DISABLE_WP_CRON', true );
Ok, so if all this is ok you now have a reliable WordPress setup, with great performances and doing cron tasks when it should be done.

Let’s code!
So the first part was just some sort of spoonfeeding (not really but you got the main points on how to set up things correctly if you are willing to) … If you know what you’re doing you can go with any platform (Magento, drupal and so on …) … But as WordPress is so much popular I’m explaining in the WP pov (and I LOVE WP) …
Once again, if you can’t code you’ll have to learn … But it’s fairly easy if you put interest in it …
So let’s go the WordPress way: what you should know to be successful is plugin development and theme development: only two languages to start: PHP and CSS (javascript would be a bonus for ajax calls but not fully required).
- My way to go is to build a custom plugin to fetch the remote API: You parse the content, publish a WP post, and store relevant info into one (serialized) or multiples custom fields
- Once you have the content, you build your theme (or child theme) to display the content (Or you can do that with your plugin but I like to separate things – I can fix fetching related issues only by updating the plugin and fix custom on-page SEO only updating the theme)

The last and most relevant part :
If you have been following what I said by now and made things clean (assuming you know CSS and php) : you’ve got a responsive WP based website, with fast loading times (using all plugins I listed and good coding practices) optimized for SEO (using good plugins and top-notch coding structure) BUT you are just fetching a remote API and publishing duplicate content …

First advice:
you can stop here and see how it goes … Surprisingly, you’ll get some traffic from that as google doesn’t seem to give a fuck about duplicate content – and by fetching remote APIs you might be lucky enough to be indexed before your source - (wait for the traffic and then find a way to monetize it) …

Second advice:
If you’ve been here … you know the basics of coding! Now let’s go for some marketing tips: What would happen if you use the same content but use a silo structure while your source doesn’t? What would happen if you spin (easy in PHP) some keywords? What would happen if you add buying intent keywords? What would happen if you use a silo structure and add « hack », « cheat » or « serial » to any game name while fetching a game API? And …

Most of all, as I Loled reading this :
Coders ain’t marketers
Yes for sure, But what would if any coder starts to think the IM way using AI? Maybe marketers will be replaced by bots

Let me know

SORRY FOR NOT QUOTING : I Wrote this post offline so didn't quote the people I mentionned ... So please do this for me if you're willing to ...

Thank you for posting this. True value here. I have used the same kind of methods for more than 10 years with great success, but you have to think out of the box and be creative.

What would happen if you use the same content but use a silo structure while your source doesn’t?

Literally this made me millions.

Its really become a passive because everyone cannot use these api and if you do programming and making these apis to use things in simple way

Hi guys,

Just a small thread which might help you making money if you have some coding skills ...

I won't spoonfeed you in this thread as you'll have to use your brain to make money.

Let's say you can parse json or xml and publish to WordPress (or any other platform) ...

First head to expireddomains.net and find a decent domain (with decent metrics) which might be monetizable (regarding your networks) ....

In the meanwhile, perfom a quick google search : https://www.google.com/search?q=free+api to find hundreds of free apis ....

If an api is relevant for your domain, buy it.

From there, you just have to parse content, publish it and redirect users to the offer ...

Dead simple if you know what you are doing !

I can give some hints for coding but won't give any help if you can't code ;)
Hey, thanks for the method. I have two questions:
Are you trying to get backlinks to the website or you trying to build more websites and see which one works?
How long does it take to start hetting traffic to a website ?

I never do link building until it starts to make money ... If you start with an expired domain you'll already have decent backlinks anyway and it might be enough to start ... But if you can build social media profiles and automate posting it will be a plus ...

The more sites you build the more chances you'll have to be successful ...

Traffic really depends on your niche, long-tail keywords you targeted ... and your indexing rate of course ... But you should have small results within the first month

I don't know what I was expecting when I opened this thread but nope, not for me!

(Barely understand any of the abbreviations.)

I wish I knew what this all meant though. I have an interest in learning.

Maybe someone can help me with expired domain? Is there any free tool to help find one?

With the free IP...I think you just add exral level to my income....thanks

That's it ...
You first alter the content with any profitable "betting" related keywords in your example and you are good to go

Clearly it's based on quantity ... It can be quite long to set up at first if you add some tweaks but once done it's almost set and forget if you handle the job via a cron task.
Have you tried to create a site from amazon api. How are those doing? I think with a little description spinning and long tail keyword targeting it could work?

This doesn't even need coding. 5000 scripts out there that do this.

The real point of this method is to add unique tweaks ...
Do you really think you'll make money using an automation script already used by thousands of people? Maybe ...
But imo, the coder behind this script might be doing much more by selling it (and chances are he is also running his script with unique features) ...

Basic explanation for who might not have understood.

Find an expired domain based on a free api (this one will just simplify your life, nothing more). Example: an api where you can type the name of a male and a female and the result is something that tells you if they're a "match" or not (some bs that 14yo girls love). Buy an expired domain based on this api.

Coding section. I'll skip the technical thing since you are supposed to know how to do that if you want to use this method. Following the previous example, before the user gets the result if the names are a match, pop out a content locker or something like that, so the user must complete the survey before getting the result. Btw this specific API in the example exists and it's free if you want to check it out.

This is basically the same thing as getting a LP in a specific niche (game hacking for example) and doing the same thing, but without the coding if you already have the LP and just need to set the content locker link. Anyway OP's method gives you a little more freedom in customization if you know, as he said, how to code. Great twist!

No, it's not what he meant. Re read the post again
