Is Google the slowest reacting search engine?

It seems that Yahoo and Bing react fastest to my link building efforts. I'm jumping up the SERPs on these engines.

Google...very slow.

Is this normal?

My experience is yes. Google is the slowest search engine. Every time I launch a new site. it takes weeks or months and I had one that still is not fully indexed or cached after almost a year.

Google may be slowest but more valuable, a good G ranking will also affect your rankings in the other SE's. I find that: Bing is fastest (not a lot of value for me), then Yahoo (so so) and last G (most value)

I don't entirely agree. I've indexed 6 millions of pages and 1,5 millions of images on Google (these are the serps it returns) in a couple of months. In no way absolutely I would have gotten such a speedy result from Yahoo or Bing. Bing in particular can be extremely stubborn to start indexing in absence of what it considers "authority links"

In decreasing "reactivity speed" order (fastest to slowest),
meant as ability to index fast when they want, this is my list:

Google
Yahoo (rip, soon retired)
Yandex
Baidu
Bing
Ask

I just relaunched a small site 15,000 pages back at the beginning of Dec, and Yahoo and Bing have already indexed the full site and currently ranking number 1 on the serps for my keywords. I submitted the new sitemap file to google I have 1 page out of 15000 indexed. With that said most of the search traffic on the site is indeed coming from Yahoo and Bing right now. last month i got 46k hits off of the search engines.

being indexed and ranked for a keyword are two different things, the debate is being slow in indexing or ranking ?

I must agree, g is faster in indexing
and bing is....bing

I may have done a bad job communicating before my relaunch yahoo and bing I was not ranking and then after the speedy re index on my site with bing and yahoo I am ranking. I have always had a hell of a time getting google to come index my site in a speedy way. Where yahoo and msn are extremely fast at indexing. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Do you generate pages with a script?? Are the pages any good?

I am working on one right now, I am trying to make it a very good quality, 100 pages ahh what a PAIN.


To get to the topic, I published my website in start of december, 80 pages then.
Yahoo indexd all pages, Some very good SERP.
Bing indexd 25 pages today
google indexd 50% pages, but no SERP.

yes i am using a php script to write other php scripts/pages. Each page is unique landing page.
