Hi all,
according to veteran SEO Jonathan Maxim its no longer about backlinks. Source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/theyec/2020/09/21/the-new-seo-rules-for-2020-its-no-longer-about-the-backlinks/?sh=6e8016476b3b

True enough, I recently purchased a website that dropped constantly in Traffic, from 20.000 to 8.000 monthly visits over the last 2 years, a constant decline. After switching to the fastest Hosting I could find, traffic skyrocketed to now again about 20.000 monthly vistis.
The site has almost no backlinks, still ranks for some high volume keywords.

Just wanted to share my experience here. Better invest in good and fast hosting than in the "Ultimate Jesus Christ Link Package 3000 to dominate your Niche".

Cheers

Opening my Lady Gaga NVME SSD Hosting Service really soon!
Yo I know Maleficent is more bomb - I wank off to that shit - probably the best thread in the marketplace

Where is the link btw, the thread looks like an ad.

@drcryoto Totally agree. Backlinks are minor. Niche, real traffic, social media shares, generally shares are really important.

Oh lord, didnt mean to offend so many people.
I just wanted to share my experience. Good hosting isnt expensive, do your research and go with a decent host with fast TTFB.

The backlinks my site has are not very good either. Obviously site age is important and quality content. Within 2-3 weeks after switching traffic doubled, all organic from Google.

Is it April fools day oh wait it isn’t. Another lame attempt by @bartosimpsonio employers using other other peopl to share their views

I've posted about this extensively.

It's not the backlinks per se any more.

It's user behavior.

Since Google is tracking everyone 24x7 they know WHO is browsing the WWW.

If an expert clicks on a link, it means that link is relevant.

It's all about links + user behavior now. Everyone's logged into Gmail all the time, they track the users everywhere and track which links they click. These clicked links are relevant, the others aren't.

If everyone logs out of Gmail their system goes bust.

To see how this is true: in the pandemic shops closed and they couldn't track people into shops in order to rank them, so their system went nuts and began ranking shit.

If everyone began to send Google bogus tracking data, by visiting random links and random shit, their system would go nuts.

It's all about user tracking. Links still matter but people have got to interact with the links while logged into Gmail.

This line here is certainly a joke.

While it's true that SEO is no longer all about links, links still play a very huge and vital role in SEO.
Telling people to invest in just faster hosting and hope their site would rank is just plain dumb in my opinion.

Irrespective of whether search traffic is your target or not, a slower hosting and site would negatively impact your business as users/visitors would be frustrated and leave to never return again.

Backlinks remain a crucial factor for organic search ranking. The number of referring domains is one of Google’s most important ranking factors.

Ok cool. Just buy fast hosting and add domain or no? ok add domain too and chill.. you get 20k monthly hits - SEO 2020 Guys!

Interesting observation. Any sources to go with that or just your own thoughts?

Curious what you mean by "If an expert clicks on a link, it means that link is relevant". What does Google define as an expert in the case of an affiliate buyer guide being ranked
