Anyone else facing this?

From January 1st week, indexation has been way slower.

And once it indexes, the article is not ranking anywhere, not even in top 200.

Before it used to rank somewhere in top 100.

This is very weird and was also reported by some other people on Facebook.

So basically fresh articles are not ranking anywhere.

I'm not seeing any warnings on GSC and the articles published last month are ranking.

What do you mean by "fresh"?

From my experience, rankings need to stabilize reardless of initial ones so it really doesn't matter where you rank right away.

I mean whenever I used to publish a new article, I can see it'd rank at least in the top 100 in 2-4 days. But right now, its not even in top 200. this is happening only from January 1st week.

There was a massive update so this might be one of its effects.

Do you have any inputs on why this is happening? How was december update affected you?

It's interesting that you say after indexing you see it ranking in the top 100. I have not had similar experiences. There are many factors to ranking in addition to getting indexed. Index does not equal instant ranking in the top 100. Now it's probably ranking somewhere but I don't find it "odd" that it's not in the top 100.

I noticed a slower indexation in January, compared to December. Totally agreed, but I think it affects weaker/newer sites. I don't see the big guys having issues with indexation.

Yes. Me too facing indexing issue from December. Few sites which is instant indexing also getting delay..

These are 2,000 word, expired articles written by university lecturers 15 years ago. They have passed 100% across multiple plagiarism tools and are on not very popular subjects and most of these searches they show up on are showing zero as the estimated number of monthly searches.
Shorter or lower quality articles on the same site and subjects are taking 2 - 3 weeks to index and to be honest it seems totally random with these whether they get indexed or not

Before the December update I could index a post after 15 minutes of publishing, low comp kw often popped up in the first page once indexed. Nowadays with the same low comp keywords it takes around a week to be indexed and the article pop up at pos 100

its strange. None of my articles that is published this month are ranking in TOP 200. Not sure what to do

I only ever use content that I've written myself for the last 7 years or so.. but when I first started (before I began writing) I would use Fiverr

The results were lackluster to say the least lol

They are good. Paying about $40/1000 words

You must have paid way too much for that kind of content tbh. And price has nothing to do with quality in many cases.

imo its content related, like u said u hired someone to write content right? What kind of content does he write?
It's either that the content is poor quality, or Google just f's with you
