If you're trying to improve/develop a charity website, would you go for SEO-tailored content?

I mean, you have the company profile and some content to reflect the brand's image. But is it wise to conduct proper keyword research in the niche and generate valuable informational content around these to just drive traffic? Meaning that you'd be treating the website just like any other SEO blog you create.

I need suggestions from a business/PR point of view.

Note that you're most likely to get traffic from outside your targeted geo location.

However, the merit in this hypothesis is that you'd be getting tons of free authority links. Isn't it just wise to use that SEO juice for ranking content?

If you don't rely on big brands to boost you into virality, then you surely need SEO content for organic traffic. Nobody would hear about you otherwise..

I'm trying to explain that to the charity I've recently joined.

Obviously, they're not knowledgable in any way when it comes to SEO. But they strike connections with other charities that have massive websites... I mean natural links from the Guardian and tons of press releases.

I've recently got them a 77 TF link that they could've simply asked for easily.

It usually is enough for a charity, they get a pass from Goog in term of content. Posts should be more about accomplishments than keyword targeting if they get enough boost from press

That's the thing, they don't have that much accomplishments. They're going to run out of content ideas pretty soon.
They also don't have that much coverage. They rely solely on networking with other charities to get press releases, but it's not that much either.

I thought it's wiser to start keyword targeting and benefit from the authority they're already getting. While it might not seem enough to get them to the top as merely a charity website, it would definitely push SEO content through the search engine like crazy.

I thought Google ads was free when it was for charity? I'd look that up if I were you.

We looked into this, and Google isn't allowing the type of charity we're running.
What a bummer.

Should we opt for SEO content, then? It's either this or social media to get traffic; and SM is not as reliable honestly, and with the search engine we can leverage the backlink authority we're already getting

That sucks, I just looked it up and it's $10k/month all for free :(

I guess SEO content would do well too, yeah.

I think we'd simply just apply and see how it goes.

SEO would be perfect, but they're still reluctant to go with it as they're not aware of the potential. With proper structuring on the website, it can't hurt the brand's image in any way. They have what we lack - actual networking with other brands.

My god.

Your content impacts your page rank. You need to have fresh and engaging content on your site, and you need to update it often. The key is to keep people on your site for as long as possible.
