Nootropics, Microdosing, and YMYL

Hi all, new to BHW. I want to start a blog devoted to new, guides, and information about nootropics, microdosing, psychadelics, and various wellness products. While doing research into the blogging world, I heard about google's YMYL policies. My question is, will it be difficult to rank on google and other platforms with a niche like this, and if so, should I even bother? I have no credentials, and my knowledge on these subjects is limited to my personal experiences, anecdotal accounts, at-home research, and years of interest in these subjects.

Also, would this topic be ad friendly? Product promotions, and affiliate marketing will be difficult for obvious reasons, but I think I can manage those so long as I get creative, but, I still see most of my money coming from ad revenue, and whether this topic would scare advertisers away, I am not sure about.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, this will be my first experience with blogging, and if this is a bad idea for a niche, then let me know.

When I write YMYL content, I make sure to link out to studies that provide some support to the claims made in the article

It's also important to highlight THE DISADVANTAGES instead of just talking about the upside of the nootropic

The more objective and BALANCED the piece (at least at first blush), the better

Tone also plays a big role - remember, Google's big on E-A-T so you can't overly HYPE your product

The best approach? SHOW the reader (charts, small suggestive studies, etc etc) instead of just TELLING them.

Anyone can TELL (say) stuff.... you have to SHOW and build authority through .edu linkouts

Yeah, it definitely seems to be something that's catching on recently, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of competition either.

Thanks a bunch! I will keep all of that in mind. I definitely want to do it from a scientific standpoint, especially if it helps with my rankings.
