[Google Update Warning] Monday-Tue 11th Jan

Some clients' sites with large gains from December received slight traffic hits on 1/8, but nothing significant since then.

In my niche, December update was a good thing (I actually showed somebody). Some shitty sites were moved down.

Are you being affected now?

Basically in a couple of years having an SEO ecom site will be the most profitable. Content SEO won't be as powerful just because people would rather stay on Google, and all the content will be scraped and put in the SERPs anyway...

Looks like we are headed there indeed.

I lost a few featured snippets / 1st places in the December update. Some big authority sites got pushed on the first spots. As far as I can see from my GSC / GA no moves/buzz from the 8th of January until now in my niche.
BTW, I have MFA website if that helps.
My traffic dropped 50% in dec update. :D

We give them permission to steal from us with our schema don't forget. Unless people all decide to start denying Google, there's not much we can do about it :\
Perhaps we will see it come into law that these "snippets" that actually steal the critical information from other websites is a violation of copyright and could expose google to legal action if they don't stop.

Can you sue God?

This page shows you as a webmaster how to opt out of your content being used in a featured snippet: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/featured-snippets?visit_id=637464326496969119-1159046946&rd=1

Everytime I hear about google updates ... I will scare so much even though I did not build black/gray hat links ... bcz I was hit my EMD few years ago which wipe my entire earning and left me where I started

I've been seeing a slight increase in revenue since December, I hope it stays. Website started ranking for other keywords than my main one, and I seem to be losing rankings for the keyword I relied on for so long.
