Will it hurt my site if I make duplicate posts with almost the same content, but 5% +/- changed?

Hello,

I have an idea for a blog.

It will follow the same structure and have the same topic, but some of the words (+/- 5% will be changed).

Say, I have a site about kids toys, that will look something like this:
Introduction: Kids love to play, bla bla bla ...

Body of text: Same as the other articles on my site

Affiliate links: Here's where it changes. In one article, it might say: "Click here to buy a plastic shovel".
The next one will maybe say: "Click here to buy a teddy bear".

Of course, it will not be exactly like this, but something like this. Would this be REALLY bad for my site?

I will also use filler content, this is just what will be SEO'ed.

Any time you clone your articles, even with 5% change in the text, its really not a good thing, and you will not rank for these articles.
Please understand, if we are talking about generic content that is shown all pages, such as your main header text, that ill not count.
Also in the side panel, if you have something, that will also not count against you.
BUT.. The actual content on the site/articles.. Will be a problem and you should NOT do it.
I would recommend to not index one of the pages if you absolutely need this.

Okay, if I then do the same structure, but re-write most of it, then I'm in the clear?

95% of your content will be duplicate which affects you in a negative way.

Depend on niche, and your targeted traffic source.
In fact i have a site that 100% copy paste, but rank on google.

never dupe content if your site want to get from SEO

I have a competitor who ranks really well with duplicated text. They have a 2000 word article, they change the keyword and only about 400 words. Everything else is exactly the same and all their pages rank really well.

Try to make unique content for your website. Duplicate any single content many times will hurt your SEO.
