Whats hot in crypto right now?

You were spot on. I was expecting it as well, but in my view it could have happened later. I was actually expecting a pump towards 47k levels and then a correction.

What helped you time it so good? BTC started tanking more or less when you said it would. In the event you're not a whale :smirk:, what helped you time it so well? Did you use any indicators, fibonacci sequences?

Care to share a bit more?
I was actually more sure that it would make it to $47K as well than dump at $42/$41.5 mate - if someone asked me to pick one of the other I would have got it completely wrong. It just seemed at $42 that the energy quickly changed, and there were indicators that supported that as well (accum/dist, RSI and ADP both supported it).

I used fibonacci retracement in conjunction with MA and EMA and look for convergences between them, and historic levels of support/resistance, or even better - for major fib retracement events ($47K is undoubtedly an important price because it's retracement stems from the 2017 bull run.

I actually shorted all in at around $41K because of the switch in energy, but pulled the parachute a few K too early on the way down. When it gets up to $47K I would expect a major event, and if it moved up past $42K it would have for sure stopped at $47K next.

What made $47K stand out to you man? Fib retracement or something else?

That's how most people lose their money and then cry how bad crypto is, buying when most already took profits. BTC already did more than x5 in the last 9 months, will it raise more? Maybe, or maybe not...

Congrats on the short! I waited too long with this one. I still caught a few extra altcoins by doing a swing trade later on, but it was really risky. I shouldn't repeat that. I'm making a note to myself here :anyway:

I'm looking at the charts in mostly pure form. I find that most indicators only add to the confusion and disturb the clarity of a clear chart.

Price action, support/resistance levels and historic patterns are the indicators for my mind. I only have the moving averages added to the chart at all times. I may occasionally plot a DMI or RSI, but most of the time they are a distraction to me. I prefer to predict the future with candles.

I do occasional altcoin trades. Either in between them or with tether. I try to keep the trades to minimal. I validate the trades with the long term movement of BTC and total crypto Market Cap and how it is moving.

IN crypto happens the same sh*t that happens every 2 years :D
Its like a crypto cycle.

How about XRP? How is it?

It's a legalized scam.

I can't believe my eyes right now I think?

Are you guys seriousy telling OP to invest @ ATH?

To OP: don't fall for the fomo and wait for it to drop is my opinion. Never invest at ATH, that's literally rule #1...

If I were to bet on a cryptocurrency I would currently bet on ETH.
I'm afraid of the decline of BTC.

Yeah I only trade alts normally because they give better returns, but would have done better over the last few months with BTC (ofc). The next few months are an alt trader's wet dream imo so will be staying strong and hoping for some major action.

I get your point, but sometimes things are a bit more nuanced than that.

Was investing at the ATH of $20K a good move? It went 2X from there.

What about the ATH at $22K? The one at $25K. After any of the small corrections on the way to $42K? What about if now the price reverts and goes to $50K and never comes back to this point?

You may end up hoping that it comes down softly to the perfect entry point at $20K or whatever, but the market doesn't normally make things easy for retail traders - in fact that's the whole point.

Mate I'm buying into LTC with whatever I can get my hands onto. BTC probably will get to 100k at some stage but is unlikely to remain the 'default' crypto in the long term.

I remember the days of being listed in the Yahoo directory was a MUST (along with DMOZ - good luck) and then Google came and smashed Yahoo to pieces. I think it'll be the same with Bitcoin, just a case of what will replace it.

ETH certainly has a great use case but I don't think it will become the main crypto player in the long term.

I've always really struggled to see the significant value in LTC.

Some slight mods compared to BTC, without the widespread ubiquity, the trust, or the brand. It's never seemed to me like it offers big solutions that haven't already been solved.

ETH/Ethereum on the other hand has the potential to revolutionise so many different industries and become the underlying protocol of much of the internet activity of the future. If ETH overtook BTC as largest by marketcap this run it wouldn't surprise me at all tbh, heavily dependant on the rollout of ETH 2.0.

i think DOGE is good to invest right now because elon musk also put some money in it.

it's so hot that i bought $1K just earlier, hoping it will climb back to $40K :D

There are those that go along the lines of "If you can't handle its 100% loss, you don't deserve its 1000% gains" :p

Can't figure out whether this is sarcasm or not.

I made my biggest crypto investment when BTC was near all time high in December. Granted I did not invest in BTC, but alts, however the whole industry still moves just as BTC dictates.

While your reasoning is very understandable, it's not always the case. The world is changing and I personally have difficulties imagining a future without blockchain.

I have Elrond and Atom, not sure if I do a good investment with ATOM but is just 800 USD in, at the moment it's just dancing.

What Alts are you trading and which ones do you see as

worth a punt <$0.30
potential for 5 x >$2
solid choice 2-3 x >$10

I got out of my XRP position in tact and looking to split my investment across a few alts + have a bit to day trade to increase bank roll.

Appreciate your thoughts.
