Posts Not Showing on Google - But GSC Says Indexed?

Hi all,

I have a 1 month old blog, and in google search console, some posts say "submitted and indexed" , but when I do a google search of site:url they don't show up in the search results.

Is this some form of google sandbox? Why would google say indexed if the pages don't actually seem visible in SERP?

Big G has had a lot of indexation issues recently, so maybe just wait it out seeing as your site is so new.

Also, I'm fairly certain the site: operator isn't the best way to see if your page is in the index.

Use cache: instead, this will show you if your page is in the index, and what date it was crawled.

Yet my site shows up (for some pages) when I use the site: operator.

Any idea why this could be?

That would indicate that the page is not in Gs cache, therefore it has not been crawled and indexed.

I'm not sure why GSC says your page is indexed when it is not, as I said they have had a lot of indexing issues lately.

I know at least the homepage is indexed, because when I do a normal google search of my brand name , it shows up in the top results (even when using a device/browser that has never navigated to the site before)

Yet the homepage doesn't show up with the cache: operator.

Happened to my website as well.

All I did was submit my URL again and didn't check for 10-12 days. It eventually got indexed!
I know it seems like a problem at first, but trust me, GSC is crazy nowadays and this type of thing happens a lot.. at least for me!

Are you using AMP, the same problem happened to me, then I noticed the AMP version was indexed but the normal link is not showing.

Absolutely the same problem, some posts show as indexed in gsc, eventually they show up in google search but days/weeks later. So patience is the only way forward, I guess. I also have index, de-index, index, de-index, etc problem but eventually the problems go away and pages start showing up in search.

Without plugin not possible to activate AMP, or check the google webmaster report

Search console is more accurate than the site: search parameter. If Google seach console says that those pages are indexed than they should be.
