I don't know if this is the correct section to post but i'll go anyway.
I have a dear friend who is a chiropractor and wants to create a posture belt exclusively targeted at people with neck/shoulder/torso issues. He asked me if it'd work.I don''t know, only thing I know is that most online shops are flooded with subpar stuff and having tried his I must admit that it is decent.Nothing life changing but decent.
Trick part is he isn't willing to allocate much money, kinda start small by adding it to his own practice and expanding if it grows successful, while I strongly advised him to shoot for a decent budget.Has already found a deal with a local business that can produce it at a decent cost so that's covered

Now i'm asking you,is it a viable strategy or should I just tell him to leave it alone?I'd be the one taking care of the social-sales-site aspect in both scenarios but still wondering what's the best course of action

I’d say promote it on social media. Try to get a buzz going and also give it away to lots of social influencers in exchange for video reviews. Something along those lines. If it’s a good product it will work.

problem is though, if your friend doesn’t want to put any money in, it’s a bit worrying, doesn’t he believe in it himself? If not, how can anyone else?

Don't know man. It's just that he wants to start very small(and local) and see how it goes. later if the product is well received to start expanding maybe going for a wider audience.

pretty dumb if you ask me though since social media has a wide reach but hey. He's a bit of an "analog" rather than digital guy.Only thing that keeps me intrested is that he promised me a fixed % on sales on top of monthly payment, only local marketing tho.

regardless of local marketing you should use the same strategies mentioned above, not sure how easy is to find youtubers and influencers in your country/region but try to add some GMB to the strategy. And still it will be a pity as that product will for sure need the dumb/irrational type of shopping that you can find on internet.
