does anyone know how to register them outside Japan? I've seen so many abandoned .JP domains with flawless metrics, but aren't available to purchase outside the country.

Happy to receive tips about this thingie.

Are you sure they haven't been used as PBN? When the Japanese even use .com domains for PBN like crazy
The ones I checked were part of a blogging system that allows you to insert your own domain, but they got banned from the system, anyway, we are not talking about google penalty.

Yeah wondering about this too - maybe setting up Japanese company is the only way? But then their laws are probably very strict and you can lose all domains (thats the reason why Japanese spammers are using .com)...

Some registrars offer trustee/proxy services that allow you to register domains that you would otherwise not be eligible to do. Be prepared to pay a bit more than the registration fee.

I used to run a PBN service but can't recall if we registered any .jp domains for people.

https://www.101domain.com/jp.htm (I've never used this registrar so YMMV)

Don't mind to lose them, I want to use them

Wow, thank you so much, indeed the prices are way up, BUT, there are few extremely high metrics domains that absolute worth it to make them part of my PBN.

Have a blessed day, cheers!

Trustee or gandi.net

For int'l domains, they're often the best. Not the cheapest, but they have a variety of services.

I think you can get by with the free trustee on .jp and don't even need corporate services. .jp aren't an especially tough ccTLD.

Cheers! Let me know how it goes.

As for getting some .jp domains, you should check https://www.jp-domains.com/. I suggest you use some japanese speaker since there are several steps (email verification, sms verification) that a non-japanese speaker won't easily cope with.

Btw, I'm now looking for some japanese PBN service to buy. See more https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/i-need-japanese-pbn-building-services.1335196/.

Some restricted countries have hidden gems. Even Turkey has a lot DA/DR 80+ domains but it's difficult to register them.

Tell me more.. where do you find them
If you're into expired domain research, you'll find a lot of great domains. Turkey is extremely strict and doesn't allow anyone to register their domains. There is a lot of paper work and verification process involved.

The same happens with Australia. Hidden gems there too, but you need an ABN to register the domains or a trademark if you are outside Australia.

Its possible to get them, but you can lose them anytime. :)
