Best way to get engagement up?

• Host a podcast or go live - Hosting a Q&A, AMA, interview a celebrity/public figure on your niche/industry, show a little behind the scene type of content works great

Give your followers valuable content. If they are unfollowing then there is something wrong in your actions. Try to make it interesting or even fun for them. And remember: followers make you win, followers make you lose.

And I don't make bad photos, I am not the best photographer there is obviously, but I'd like to imagine my content has some quality. Still, doesn't explain why with 11k followers I barely get 40 likes on my posts. It's like as if none of my followers ever see my posts on their feeds

It isn’t about your photos quality. It’s about engaging them to interact with you. Plain photos do not engage most of the users. Ask them questions like would they visit this kind of place, tag the person who they gonna go there with, gift them a portrait, make them send your posts to friends.
When people dont interact with your page like commenting, tagging and so Instagram AI detects that there is no interesting content for most of the followers and your engagement drops very fast.
I don’t really think your photos are the problem, but ppl tend to keep scrolling when they see nothing else in a post.

I never thought of it that way. I imagined that at least you get likes if you have pretty pictures. Maybe I was wrong. I will try engaging with my followers more, some of the suggestions you mentioned are good. Maybe I can offer to edit their raw files?

Of course you can. Possibilities are endless just think what they would like and with what they would engage more. Answers are up to you.

Think about it like almost 900 likes per 10k followers. My opinion is its pretty good but always aim higher!

How do you interact when nobody anyswers lol, I did a post trying to get them followers active, in the end 2 people commented. since then i dont do this type of posts anymore

It doesn’t happen overnight and it doesn’t have the same effect for everyone.

Well if noone answers I dont interact...I just try to post something new then. I hate it tho, 11k followers and nobody answered my post what is the correct way to call a certain place in Malta

Follow/Unfollow other accounts in your niche(Try a different source this time).
Comment on big related accounts(preferably in your niche).
Engage. Engage. And Engage More(Liking one random post from a random hashtag doesn't count).
Top-Notch Content(Always a priority)
Hashtag Research.
Tag the right people.
Collaborate.
