Its not THAT bad really, yes there are like 4 or 5 that get bumped, but that's it, and they will die away as new ones appear.
It's a popular news topic, and affects all our businesses

Most people aren't saying that there aren't people getting sick from covid, just that they'd like the right to discuss the potential impact of taking a vaccine with under a year of trialing.

Surely as a medical professional you could concede that ideally any vaccine would have more than 9 months of testing before being released.

That's the same thing that people would like to be able to discuss also. As someone that's studied science surely you understand the value of discussing contentious ideas in order to come to a better understanding.

For example, if speaking about the vaccine is banned here, you also (as a medical professional) would be unable to provide better information to people. Isn't there value in that?

I know you aren’t saying that there aren’t people getting sick from Covid but I’ve seen plenty of people here talking about how covid is basically the same as the flu and there’s nothing to worry about which simply isn’t true.

I do agree that taking a vaccine that’s been tested for less than 9 months isn’t ideal, but unfortunately the situation we’re in is far from ideal. We’re almost a year into lockdown and infections are just going up despite quarantine. People are actively opposing rules because they’re sick of the regulations. I honestly don’t see any alternative. Either a majority of the population gets the vaccine so we can get herd immunity or we stay in lockdown indefinitely because as soon as things start opening up, infections are gonna spike even worse than they are now.

Regardless, I’m all for the freedom of speech and discussing ideas here, but there are too many uninformed people here spreading misinformation to the point where it’s causing more harm than good.

See even now, talking with you is valuable and something that I find interesting, moreso than talking to a lot of other people perhaps.

I think that cutting off all discussion about covid is a wasted opportunity to work towards better ways of communicating where honest and fair discussions are the norm instead of tribal, arguing discussions that mostly lack logic or a basis in facts.

I don't know any medical professionals personally, and so for me at least, being able to bounce ideas and info from someone like you is valuable - and I'm just one person. There are thousands of other people that don't ever comment and probably pay a lot of attention to the covid threads looking for answers.

Ok, there's some whacky shit in there sometimes and it breaks down into arguments between people. But that doesn't mean that stopping talking about it is the only option.

If people cared more about being honest when they discuss covid and less about winning then the discussions would actually be productive. I'd be more open to putting rules in place for how to conduct covid discussions than a binary option of having them as they are or removing them completely.

Surely it's not that hard to collectively come to some reasonable terms everyone can agree on for how to discuss the pandemic and the vaccine, and then if people break those guidelines then everyone can contribute to steering conversations back onto a good path. (@Zwielicht ?)

It's not that hard - if people drop their preconceptions about each other then everyone could get their way - less bullshit conversations, but people can still get valuable information from guys like @exodian1 and from other sources.

The main problem is the format of discussions - it's all about conflict from the beginning. It doesn't have to be.
This is exactly the problem.

Posts with no understanding of how these vaccines work spreading information which is wrong.
Something that seems like a problem though is saying "these few people say silly things in relation to a global event affecting everyone's lives, so we should all completely stop talking about it".

Why not put good ideas against bad ideas instead of trying to stop all ideas? (This isn't meant argumentatively, it's a genuine question).

Any other community you try to talk about covid with is an echo chamber and doesn’t allow real discussion. Same with forums of politics or religion.

It’s nice to get some real perspective from a non-related community to a major event going on in our lives.

I see a new thread every week, which really isn’t that bad. The problem is people engage with these posts so much that it constantly pops up on the new posts page.

This isn’t Twitter or Facebook and we shouldn’t ban discussion on these types of posts. Most of society already does. We’re a blackhat forum and shouldn’t be okay with censorship because of “misinformation”, the zing word of 2020

Some members posts on this subject are actually harmful and potentially cause risk to life. We are NOT all adults here and BHW is no place to stir up confusion on life threatening health matters.

Please add this to the list of banned discussion.

If social media is actively trying to close down posts from actors with ulterior motives, it is not something we should tolerate from naive reposting in BHW.

You have the right to IGNORE any thread & topic you don't like. But you have no right to tell others what and how to think && what to discuss.

- You really believe that Social Media, any Media and Google are your friends?? Ok.. enough PornHub for today..

We are dealing every day with funny pokemons who doesn't respect freedom of speech trying to force us as a hosting provider to apply censorship here and there.

If you don't like a topic , ignore it. simple as that..

The humanity evolution and the chance to be where you are now and not on banana trees is because we have the unique ability to think different , discussing various topics, opinions etc.
If you don't respect that .. well you can always join Kim Jong-Un !

Maybe a pinned topic with verified facts and not opinion from both sides could work

I don't like your post, attempting to even discuss the vaccine is misinformation and should be banned immediately

It inevitably ends up as a shit show of memes, Alex Jones best bits or straight up out of the world ideas.

From memory we've had:

Someone claiming vaccines are made by evil science witches.

That multiple aborted fetuses go into each vaccine dose.

That vaccines change your DNA so that a company can own the patent on your DNA and therefor own you.

Plus all the usual globalist elites, nanochips, great reset, Bill Gates, government control, fake pandemic, fake vaccine doses etc etc.

That's not a discussion, it's a disaster, there is no discussion taking place.

Some discussion is probably warranted. I can understand hesitancy, even if I don't agree with it. But it's a overwhelmed with the worse parts of the internet.

There is 100% a political underpinning to a lot of this.

Anyone can just pick the most extreme things that people say and make it sound like that's the entirety of covid discussions but I've spoken to people about which countries have their borders open during lockdown, and interesting information about covid itself too.

It's like saying to get rid of the internet because there are biracial midget anal fisting videos on some websites.

I started adding people to the ignore list - the forum is very clean for me now,
Everyone who starts covid threads will go to my ignore list.

I'll remove them from the list when the world is back to normal :D
That's called being a pragmatist. Maybe you can create a method thread so others can follow suit and anyone else that would like to discuss covid and also do so. :)

I agree with this.

Especially since the arguments against the vaccine are plain simply nutcase schizo BS. If it had the slightest scientific basis I'd agree to leave them as a conversation piece but the arguments against vaccines are play simply insane and harmful to everyone TBH.

the guy who is schizo with his anti google propaganda speaking about anti covid thread as being schizo... this forum has seen it all...

to reply to the post, we should put all the covid related topics in a mega thread according to me, it has to stop, everybody speaks their mind like they are doctors on an IM forum, it is out of control if it continues like that.

i voted yes because censorship is bad, the people have spoken

get WOKE

No Rumour or speculation should be allowed here; only facts backed up with evidence if you can prove that the vaccines contain 5g cheap made by the Illuminati reptilians from the planet X following the order of The Anunnaki shapeshifters to manifest the great reset of agenda 21, only then, you should be allowed to bring it here.

Otherwise, and a tip for the “woke people,” keep this forum about hustling and money-making and SEO in general.

Peace ✌️

The trouble is, to the morons, a tweet by someone talking about something they heard was said on a video once which also fits in comfortably with the moron's confirmation bias holds as much credibility as a peer-reviewed paper.

Lmao, that was a good one; I give you that.

Man..all this talk about this shit. im fed up with it. But that does not mean ppl cant talk about it. But i dont have to listen (or read those posts). Lets keep this place as free speech as possible.

No comments means no interest, so let threads like that sort themself out.

I am neutral towards the vaccine thing. The reason I'm not taking it yet is because the Pfizer CEO also didn't take it because, quote "he doesn't want to cut the line" LOL. Sorry, I'm not beta testing this thing. I'll take it when there's enough data about it and after Pfizer's CEO will also take it xD
It's my right to say that and we are not in North Korea or China to have posts removed about expressing your opinion.

I have two magic words for everyone who say anti fax talk is harmful.

So if someone made some claim about a black hat technique that will help me rank in 2hours and I tried it without doing any further research, will it be ok for me to come cry here and try to get the black hat topic banned if my website got delisted from google?
