Overeating is a crime in China now

Better not to force on people with a law rather it should be a practice followed by all humans.

USA is the #1 when it comes to food wastage. One should understand and think about not wasting for people dying from starving.

Surprised there aren't already government cameras inside peoples' home bathrooms in China to check you didn't waste water by flushing the toilet two times.

Guessing that if you're wealthy or a prominent member of the CCP that you or a member of your family overeating is just fine still.
 
Have you ever been to a high-end restaurant or bar in Shanghai or those odd gentlemans clubs or whatever the hell they are where the people who pay the most money get the best tables and hookers? This law will not apply to the Chinese elites who waste food like nobody's business. Only the average joes will suffer.

Lol. A comment straight Outta ignorance. India is more than self sufficient in case of food and even exports a ton of it. China itself is importing rice from India right now.
Same goes for Indonesia. They've got more than enough food. Pakistan is facing a slight shortage but they are not in food crisis imo.
 
People are wasting food everyday. This law should be implemented around the world. This will teach people to appreciate every bite of food that we eat and not take food for granted by wasting it.

Take only what you need and stop being greedy slob.

Although I agree about not wasting food, where does government control end?

Using too much toilet roll when going the toilet?

Using too much water in the shower?
 
Same should be applied to money, you should be allowed to owned a certain amount anything over that should be given out to next person with zero balance account. Lots of people wasting money in frivolous stuffs when the next person doesn't even have food to eat
 
Although I agree with containing food wastage like many have commented here but making overeating a crime is a step too strong.
Some people get happiness from eating. Why take away that right from them? If they are obese, try and promote a healthy lifestyle instead of imposing restrictions on someone's eating habits.
Don't take away people's food, rights or religion, if you do that, you'll have a civil war in your country.
 
Agree somehow but as usual taking things to an extreme seems idiotic, what about parties and celebrations? whether they are local or foreigners.
Guess they'll just push more tourism towards Macau and other areas.
