If we place backlink on root domain on 2 sites with similar backlinks profile and similar metric such as DR UR DA PA etc:

1. site A has 1M daily traffic.
2. site B has 10k daily traffic.

Which site will pass more SEO juice and will be more valuable for SEO ?

Backlinks prices on site A and site B differs about 20x - which one you choose ?

It depends how many people will click on that backlink on site A or B....G puts more value on user behavior in relation with the backlink.

In this scenario if site B will generate more clicks on that backlink it's better to place it there even if site A has 1 mil users.

If it's to drive targeted traffic to your site (that will convert), choose the site that has most of your target audience. That will drive more referral traffic.

Having quality referral traffic will also help with ranking. If visitor clicks on a (referral) link, visits your site and become more engaged with your content (low bounce rate, high time on site), Google consider these as positive ranking factors (if they're coming from trusted sites).

No, my goal is SEO power only. Yes, you are right, but to get some backlink traffic, link should be in the header, which costs much more. Nobody will click footer link.

As from my testings, backlink in homepage's top left sidebar on site having 10M monthly traffic brings about 50-100 monthly clicks.

I am talking about adult niche.

If your goal was purely for SEO purposes, I would suggest:
1) Research the link profile of your competitors. Do they have similar links to site A or B? What links do they have that you could replicate? etc.
2) In many cases, sites will have a diverse link profile, instead of relying on 1 link (especially if it's expensive).

1) Best ranking competitors has various links - on pages without traffic, and with traffic (not 1M but 1-5k monthly). I can say up to 20% of their links are with some (1-5k monthly) traffic, the rest has zero traffic.
2) Of course, about 20% competitors backlinks are paid, the rest - some spam on forums, spam comments, profile links etc.

Checked just now on GA: I got 67 clicks in 1 month from homepage's sidebar of a site which have 4.45M Tier1 monthly traffic according to SimilarWeb.
And 63 clicks from another site which have 1.18M monthly traffic.

On price, if you have the cash, go for the one with 1M daily traffic even though it is 20x higher than Site B. If you're on a budget, go for the other one to save cash.

For a site to bring in 1M traffic per day, it must be a very high authority site and should not be compared to a site with 10k daily traffic. Anyways, no one knows how google calculates these things so we can only guess. I have heard from a lot of SEOs that the traffic to the page with your link matters alongside the number of clicks your site is getting from the link, but then again no one is sure. (Even the Ahrefs study you linked also said this)

Just go for whatever you think is the right thing to do. I just gave you my opinion.

If you're willing to pay for the link, I'm assuming your site/landing page has some goal (like sell products or email signups).

From what I know about porn traffic, it's not so much the volume of traffic, but the quality. So assuming both sites have the same domain metrics (not always a reliable factor), choose the site that will achieve your goal.

The only accurate way you'll know this is by tracking data (like G Analytics or a tracking system) and see which site has the best quality traffic that converts for your site.
