I need to know what I'm doing wrong with my parasites (Medium specifically)

Hi, I don't know what to do to get my articles in Medium to rank, at most I have been able to get them to reach the second page of Google.

It is assumed that having the site great authority should not be difficult.

In addition, I used KD (taken from Ahref) always less than 10. Along with also writing good content and keeping it long (between 1,000 to 2,000 words), this is why I don't know what to do.

I would like to know if there is any point that I am not focusing on, or if you think I have a possible error in what I am saying.

It would also be very useful to know some advice from someone who has achieved it (With this last thing that I just said, obviously I am not saying that they tell me the keywords they have used or their niche, but if some advice that I can ignore, such as perhaps searching only competitors with little authority, etc.)

Don't look at KD, judge the keyword manually by analyzing the top 10.
Are there huge authority sites on the first page like NY Times, Wired, Wikipedia etc.? Who else is ranking on the first page? are there any niche sites? If so, how old are they? Do they have a lot of authority?
1000 - 2000 words is not a lot of content imo, what is the average content length of your competitors on the first page?
What is the search volume of the term?
How long has it been since you have posted the article?
What kind of links have you built to your parasite page?

It all depends on the keyword to be honest. Medium is a pretty decent domain and does well for link juice, but even a site like that will struggle to rank for high competition keywords.

Have you attempted to rank a page for something a little easier? I've heard that Medium works great for low to medium comp keys.

Actually, this is precisely why you say that I have focused mainly on low competitive keywords. I think the problem is that all these keywords have very authoritative websites (it happens to me especially in the weight loss niche) so I will have to change the way I search for them.

Yes, I did link building, but I have to wait a couple more weeks for the links to finish indexing.
Likewise, I would like to ask you if you find it necessary to do that with a parasite? since supposedly the advantage of these is that they already have a great authority, in this case I did link building as an experiment, but when it comes to parasites, I would prefer to avoid doing it.

It is assumed that they are intended to be searches less than 250 (to avoid competition) and that the Keyword does not appear in many article titles, however, these two factors do not think they are enough, since many times there are websites of great authority that They rank for keywords without even these appearing in their title.

Yes it is proven if you get less than 0.25 in the results the keyword will likely rank quickly.

I guess like all other tool they will not be 100% accurate but it can be used as a guide to determine if the keyword is worth going after. It is better to use than tools like the KD on Ahrefs though.
