Hey,

For Ezoic users, I've just been invited to the premium service, what is people's experience with this? Is it worth it and what package did you go for?

Also - as always is the concern, my site speed is pretty slow due to Ezoic, and I was wondering if the site speed accelerator makes a big enough difference for it to be worth it?

You can use the trial version (7 days I believe) to check out speed accelerator. For me, the speed accelerator actually managed to make my site slower than before.
I don't know about premium, still waiting for my 'invite'. :p How long have you been with them?

Here's my experience with Ezoic
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/dont-use-your-money-sites-to-test-ezoic.1273358/

I'm currently in my third month.

I just tried the page speed accelerator, and it seems to have done a lot taking it from a miserable 15 on mobile on Google Page Speed Insights to around 60-80 but this seems to swing massively depending when I check it... I'm on the trial, so will see in the coming days how much of an improvement it's made.

I'm a little bit more cautious about the premium bit, the earnings don't seem that much better based on their estimate & they want to tie you into a yearly contract, which I wouldn't do anyway, would pay more for monthly.

However has anyone seen any significant gains from switching to premium?

Just got my invite lol. Seems you don't need to get the yearly plan, you can just do monthly for a slightly higher fee.
I've been reading about it and it seems you make a slight profit every month but nothing to write home about. At least not in the early stages.
They do offer a 14-day trial so Ill probably check it out in the next couple of days.

I had Premium until early this year when I ditched Ezoic (for a number of reasons).

In total, I had 3 websites using Ezoic. I removed the 2 top-earning sites, leaving a very small site on premium, with around 12 days left before the premium contract expired. Before I removed the other 2 sites, this particular site was earning around $2 each day from premium (like I say, very small). The strange thing is, as soon as removed the 2 top-earning sites, premium started showing around $12 each day for this small site, with no change in traffic. This continued until the end of my premium contract.

I kind of know why they did it... because it had to show that Premium earned more than it cost but still, it makes you wonder about their reporting...

All in all, I earned more each month from premium without it impacting the non-premium revenue. I just find the huge increase a little cloak and dagger.

Regarding the site speed tool - it did give a significant improvement when testing on page speed insights, but I had issued with pictures failing to load because of caching issues @ Ezoics end.

Good luck with the trial, I hope it goes well.

Thanks for the feedback.

First few days look okay, but like I mentioned I'd be paying monthly, and working out what I've earned from the first few days for it, it's not going to work by the time I pay tax on the earnings.

Not unless it begins to improve.

First two days I've earned between $6-7 for premium, which is $180 a month (taking the lower estimate on a 30 day month)

Tax is 20% here, so you're looking at $144, the exact monthly cost of the package, haha. All it would take is a slight drop in traffic and I'd be losing money on it...

As for the speed tool, I've seen that with the site speed tool, the DOM loads and images load in a few seconds after, I don't really have an issue with it being that way if it's speeding up my site. In the Analytics site speed with Ezoic was around 9-10 seconds, but this seems to have cut to 4-5 in recent days since implementing it.

The main problem with Ezoic seem to be site speed. They drag your site speed down , i'm not in this shoe but i see complain here and there. infact this is the second complain am seeing just today alone.

I guess it's not a complaint though, the site speed was poor, but what I'm saying or what seems to be the case is that their site speed tool works.

That being said, I can't wait for mediavine, if it gets me near the amount Ezoic does the ads seem a lot less intrusive and quicker - but no where near their required 100k visits a month threshold

Wow. This is interesting news. So you can move out a website and keep the same total premium revenue for the one left.
I am not a big fan of their premium system. It made in a way they will earn most of the extra income everytime. And if you deduct your expenses from your taxes you have to pay extra taxes too.

Otherwise I just noticed the site speed acclerator was only 13,30$/month after 30% discount (or $119.70 per year )
I thought it was starting 30$/month minimum before discount.
May they have reduced drastically the price?
I am kind of tempted to pay for it at this price, although I find a bit stupid to pay to charge faster the advertisements they provide.

The site speed accelerator detects when you are using google page speed insights and it deactivates the ads, this is why you get a good page speed score. But this only works when you test it, otherwise, the loading speed of your site is still shit for the end-user. So you are basically paying for a service that deactivates the ads when you test the page speed ... pointless

Yeah I heard about this theory. I think I will pay for a month to test it if changes anything in terms of user experience.
I'd like to see if it also has an impact on the red lines (like LCP) in the search console.

Test it out wit gtmetrics and pingdom as well, you will see no difference once you implement it.
Its not a theory, that is how it actually works

This is the same thing I've been thinking!

Not true. It delays the ads and excess scripts from loading initially, which whilst yes does slow down the experience for users, can still lead you to be top of the metrics. For example, in my competitive niche, hardly anyone has a pagescore of above 30.

This doesn't mean Ezoics tool is shit, the main factor is external code (Ezoic and Google, Mostly Google).

Speed is an okay tool. Ezoics Premium is a no brainer and easily pays itself off:

Also, for the "Impact the users experience", it really doesn't impact them if you optimise your site properly.

Are you using Income school's WP theme?

I use Astra theme for websites with Ads networks.
It is clean and fast. I bought the lifetime license during black friday. I can recommend that theme if ads are your primary income.
I was using the Lite Speed Cache previously which is an excellent cache but I can't use all the functionalities because it creates some conflicts with Ezoic so yeah I will give a try with the speed accelerator. The pricing seems a bit more reasonnable now, especially when you are premium.

I also have a Litespeed server, but disabled everything as I didn't like it's functionality with QUIC. This htaccess snippet will fully disable Litespeed:

Code:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule .* - [E=Cache-Control:no-cache]

Yup - and the more I think about it, the more spurious it makes the premium service and the reporting that accompanies it.
