hey does anyone know if the last google update effected the pdf method for content locking? I was going to give it a try but while getting ideas from other peoples posts I noticed that at least 80% of the pdfs that got indexed show up on search but when you click the link it says the page could not be found?

It is not google update but the websites which PDF uploaded deleted the files.

Having your pdfs deleted is the effect of google update?
Think it through mate.

The pdfs are deleted by the webmasters of those sites.
This is nothing new.

I never had any pdfs deleted because I haven't posted any yet I just was thinking about giving it a try and I noticed that there was only 1 or 2 pdfs in the niches I looked at that were successfully posted and wanted to know if it would be a waist of time or not. but it sounds like its a matter of finding a site that isn't monitoring peoples post very much!.. Thank you for the responses everyone tho!

Nop, Google update has never affected it, Google even index deleted PDFs,
But if you don't have a way to index faster, the method is not for you.
The PDFs are automatically deleted becuse it's meant to be attached along with a web form, and the form will never be submitted, so the PDF get automatically deleted after some times, not manually

They are still working mate, those which are not deleted are still indexed and ranking

Page could not be found = Site owners deleted the PDF files. It has nothing to do with Google updates.
