I don't think there is any "best" method currently. You can use a great strategy, but because you don't use it at its full potential, you think you should find another one. These are proven & strong methods that anyone can still, nowadays in 2020, profit on IG with :

1) Cheap & low results :
- F/U (manual or not)

2) Expensive & high results (scalable) :
- Mother/Slave
- Shout outs
- IG ads

The strategy 1) can be done by tons of IG marketers, as it's the easiest one. One can be able to grow slowly but surely with this one. However, the account owner have to give the login credentials in order to proceed, and also need to restrict the F/U (+/- likes) actions in order to not be block-surprised

The strategies 2) can be done by fewer IG marketers / harder to setup. It requires either a high knowledge of the whole picture (M/S), great network connections and a marketing ability (shout outs / IG ads). If you already tried one of these 3 methods and failed, it's probably because it wasn't done the right way.
These 3 methods in 2020 & 2021 incoming are still KINGS and will be able to rocket any account of any niche at a very high level (of course, depending on the budget...).

Hope you got your mind a bit more clear, and try to stay away from these mass SV actions which only will get your accounts compromised at some point
