I've had a bad experience posting from desktop on Instagram so I'm asking: does the algorithm flag you if you post from desktop on Tiktok? Does anyone know about this?

Yes, it is risky for both, IG and Tiktok. Would not recommend.

I did not know that posting to IG and Tiktok via desktop is a no go - but why? So IG and Tiktok only meant for mobile phones/ tablets?

The spoofing is not enough. TikTok will recognize the desktop browser usage by "browser fingerprinting":

That's exactly what I did when posting to instagram and getting an exact 0 views, I don't see how that would help on tiktok, have you tried it?

To be honest, i have tried to post from desktop and it worked for me on two different accounts. I don't know why the comments above me say it doesn't work. It is even more convenient for me.

I have fresh account created and posting exclusively only from desktop and for less than a week i got 11K+ followers from the first video that gone viral. So, don't listen those who tell u posting from desktop is bad, try it for yourself.
Too many false info here, and not just in this thread but most of the threads on the forum are full with garbage info. Just my 2 cents...
