Google Broad Core Update December 2020

Saw a HUGE boost in Friday (and throughout the weekend) I suspected it might be a Google update. Actually hoping it sticks as site has come back from prior core updates.

I only do 1-2 guest posts a month and 1-2 articles a month. I have been boosting my authority in my niche through certifications (and posting pictures, videos and articles to "inform" Google AI) so perhaps my EAT got a boost.

But honestly I have no clue what is the driving factor of my sudden boost.

Please if you don't mind, can you explain what you mean by certifications.

I do know what you sell.
So be honest and tell people that it's against google tos to buy links. You sell links and make people believe those are white hat links.
At least I have the guts to say it that buying links is black hat... but you preach white hat and sell links.

PS: losers always look for excuses... don't... just admit it that you sell black hat links.
I'm watching this thread for some updates about the update and not about you or bart or splishsplash.

So if you have to say something about the update please do. If you know that his links are shit, you have a SL for that, or as I know you can comment once at his thread.

Don't get me wrong, G fucked me up and you are fuxking me up here now.

Cheers

Without mentioning details, it's related to health and certifications needed to operate in it. I took courses and got them and using SEO to "brag" about it.

Very sorry for being in the middle of it... I didn't get affected by this update so I have notihing to say.
Sorry.

Guys, stop the quarrel here please, I would say no one is 100% wrong, just, when you think bigger, you may have other thoughts, no just solely SEO and these things, so, respect each other, don't bash each other, if you don't like someone, you can ignore, internet marketing is never a fixed answer topic, so literally, everyone may have different answer, and they insist they are right other's is wrong, but no one is wrong, if you believe in yourself, just do it, don't bash others please.

Let's fuck Google together, this is our together GOAL.

I don't understand why people arguing here. Just share your thought about recent Google update. We want to hear personal findings(gain or loss) that could help recover our sites.

Reddit email me: December 3rd Update, Odds of Growth/Shrinkage by Size

200 Domains were manually analyzed using SEMRush data. Of those 200 domains, only 5 had their traffic level remain approximately the same.

So all averages scores were worse for the down movers compared to up movers besides CLS.

Google caused quite a stir by announcing a new ranking factor for 2021
LCP, Largest Contentful Paint
FIS, or First Input Delay
CLS, or Cumulative Layout Shift

Update: A bit early still but thought to post in case someone also has a similar experience...

One of my clients website in health has seen an uptick after losing some rankings in May. Now what did change since May for that website?

There was link building done but links won were more or less of same type of sites we did before May update.

A good push in getting social signals. Nothing spam, genuine social promotion.

No significant content additions or changes. Instead few pieces of content was deleted.

One of my websites got hit with the May update, lost 3/4 of the traffic and impressions. in the pet niche. I couldn't work out why etc so just left it. it seems to be slowly picking up after this update

For some (not me, I did not get hit in May) this was a reversal of May update. Niche: Sports.

Since I closely monitor this site as being part of my competition, I can say one or two words about it.

Negative aspects:
1. The site sucks at site speed. Not only the metrics are really bad, but the site goes offline when spikes of traffic occur - at least 3-4 times/week.
2. It is content rich, but it's not always the best or correct content. It's English only but the English they use could be better.

Positive aspects:
1. They get shitloads of nofollow or ******** links in exchange for providing data. Mostly nofollow. Link quality is mixed - can't go more natural than this.
2. Branded searches (exact domain name or long tail kws with the domain name) are around 5k/month. That's pretty good.
3. Strong internal linking.

Other aspects:
1. All content on the site is automatically generated, which means that thousands of pages might have 40-50% similar content.
2. They provide a service that may be useful for many people, therefore the branded searches.
3. Site is monetized via Adsense since the beginning.

Not sure if there's something to learn here, but even if this is a part of my competition (on many levels), I'm glad to see them growing. Their drop after the May update was a complete nonsense to me.

When you say automatically generated what do you mean?

The website is not a news site. They don't have articles. They extract data from an API and wrap text around the values. But the wrapped text is always the same, starting from metas (titles, desc) to content. The only unique fields in the content are names and numbers.

Right I see. Thanks for explaining.

anypone noticed changes in wiki linked urls after this update?

Please don't blame me... I'm not a google user, I try to stay away from google products.
But... I just did a few searches in google in my niche and the results after this update are much better. Junk moved to the second page or lower and decent websites moved up.
OK... crappy pages from "authority" sites are still there.
