I was wondering, what if you just upload your kindle book on your site and create your own store!
wouldn't you get a higher conversion rate?
Since users will reamin on your site with better user experience

It's very possible and it would be less friction for the customer.

A couple of benefits I currently have is the amazon affiliate link and although not planned I am actually getting organic sales on Amazon.

I woke up at stupid o'clock the night before last with a new idea for a quiz and have spent the last two days playing with it. I might venture into adsense for this new quiz. It's a new way of doing an old idea just need to sort out some logistics of doing it.

That's been keeping me busy along with it being advent and producing a load of material for a local church.

Only just sat down to run figures for my advent quiz. I knew this would be good. I know and understand this market and have been active for years in these online communities.

The product also has a natural and really good upsell which has turned this profitable. I very much doubt I will ever see these numbers again as I I asking people I had a connection with to do the quiz.

HOW THE UPSELL WORKED

I will do a case study on this but essentially I bought one item and split it up into several items which I then sold as the upsell.

The free plus shipping was a mary joseph and baby jesus scene and the upsell the Angel's kings and shepherds.

This really worked because it was the right groups at the right time.

Over the moon.

And really really pleased that people have messaged me to say they are getting sales doing. That gives me so much joy.

You must post in pretty big groups. How many at a time? I'm surprised you haven't been limited for spam etc yet.

I posted in 12 groups with a reach of about 1.3m now not all of those will be unique but a hefty amount of people.

Also posted on a few forums that I am also active in.

Yes just 3.99 for the Mary and Joseph (unless overseas then it was generally 9.99).

Then the upsell to really make money.

This is a flat pack wooden nativity kit no larger than an a4 envelope. As it stands they are all in my work unit.

It does leave me with a problem of how to post them all.

I have decided that regardless of whether people took the upsell or not they are getting the full thing.

I mean what do you do with thousands of three wise men and shepherds after Christmas. Would struggle to use them next year as there would be no mary, Joseph or Jesus

I think this would also work with an item like this:

Kind of. However that ignores 2 degrees in marketing and 20 years of mixed results and the knowledge and experience gained from working in sales and marketing.

No I had some on hand ready to got the rest I have now ordered from China. Will get them delivered in about 10 days and then have to wait for customs to clear them.

Sounds like a task but it’s worth it in the end, I’ll probably get in talks with a supplier from China and see if they can ship them out for me.

So I have spent a couple of hours searching and have found a delivery method that for an extra 93p per package will deliver for my.

It's a hit of £27,000 that was unexpected but all I need do is put them in the bag add my sales material and print off the label.

Also going to see if some students would like a really short term job and outsource the packing. Which will be another couple of hundred down but worth it.

Learning lessons here. Expensive ones.

Hi everyone thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I have a long background in sales and marketing and have decided to apply this knowledge to creating income through a Quiz site.

To start with a big thank you to everyone who has done journey and method threads on this I have enjoyed reading through. I will take some of what's already been said and add my own spin to it.

The Aim

I have a theory that Quiz sites are leaving $$$$ on the table by chasing after advertising money. I understand why I think with some tweaking we can increase revenue and the LTV of a visitor. The aim of this journey is to see if I am correct.


The Plan

Create 3-5 quizzes every day and post them to my newly bought domain name. The domain name is brandable rather than exact match or specific.

Once I reach 50 quizzes I will go live and start promoting the website.

After this I will continue to create new quizzes and seek out audiences.

Quiz Sourcing

To start with I will be doing this myself using a series of google searches. I will collated the questions and answers and put then together into themes quizzes. Eventually I will look at outsourcing.

Action So Far

So far I have bought a domain name with the intention of having a branded site. It's a two word domain that I bought having looked at the names of direct and indirect competitors. It conveys the right message and image.

I have tried several quiz plugins out and have settled on the one which I think best suits my needs.

A simple theme which is fast loading has been placed on the site and I have designed a logo with Canva.

I have joined a number of groups on facebook and reddit linked to my subject matters and have started to warm them up.
