Exactly! It's all about the quality of links. For me this update was really bad ! i think health niche is getting harder and harder! big websites with high authority dominating all over the place! i think EAT is links and nothing else!
Thank you my friend, I hope so.It's bad to see this. Still hope of the best man. Good luck.![]()
It's too early to say that it will cost you that much. I've had sites that have tanked in early days of update and came back better at the end. So far, I don't remember 'losing' a site permanently to any update, other than the Panda, but that was the wild west back then. Good days, when a few thousand russian spam links would get you at #1...Dunno for me this is looking like an update thats going to cost me north of 30k p.m in lost revenue, we are still a small brand compared to the other players.
If my SEO guy came at me with that same excuse id go and find someone else.
I understand what your saying but when a business has staff losing this much income could result in staff loses then you have an set guy telling me "to trust them to figure it out" I know where my first wage bill or outgoings would be cut.
I've not done anything different my content is decent enough but know I got sites like Amazon categories pages pushing me out of page 1 totally.. It's just day 1 of the update for me so I'm not stressed about it too much I figure it's re-sorting at this point I can't see what having 4+ Amazon category pages is providing anything relevant to the user at the moment unless its all about the inner backhand workings which of course they say don't happen...
healthline , mayo clinic etc are at first spots on every keyword, and long tail keywords too! and with all google ads, snippets etc there is no room for anyone else...Exactly! It's all about the quality of links.
Its freaking counterproductive for them to do it. Really no idea why they followed this path (I mean, money, sure, but long term is killing their profit as well).
Do you think it is possible to lose positions in the first days and then recover those positions at the end of the update? It's too early to say that it will cost you that much. I've had sites that have tanked in early days of update and came back better at the end. So far, I don't remember 'losing' a site permanently to any update, other than the Panda, but that was the wild west back then. As for the second part. I don't think that's how you build a working long-term relationship. Are you going to change SEO guys/agencies every 3-4 months or every week, depending on how small updates affect you on day1?
It's not an excuse, it's an explanation of the situation as it is. Whatever you do, you don't get away from an update and nothing is settled before it's over. If you know SEO guys that are constantly 100% immune to updates and rank sites in top 1-3 in competitive niches, please let me know so I can talk to them and learn something.
It sucks, but that's how things are with Google. When you helped a site get thousands if not hundreds of thousands and you showed results before, you're an authority. You've proven yourself, they will trust you. It's all about being long-term, I don't do 1-2m SEO "gigs" and I don't work with clients who want that.
Yes.Do you think it is possible to lose positions in the first days and then recover those positions at the end of the update?
2 slapped sites of mine are way older than 1 year, unfortunatelySomething else I have noticed.....domain age.
Sites under 1 year old getting slapped.
