Rank Math may be prettier, but Yoast is better IMHO (though it's always better to rely on your own skills rather than plugins to avoid over-optimization, unless you're a total beginner).

Squirrly is even better, but it is too complicated to be used.

RankMath FREE version is even than the paid version of Yoast so, comparing the free versions of both plugins is not even close the comparison, to be honest.
