Google Broad Core Update December 2020

@AngelSeo I can confirm that all languages have been hit. And in multiple markets as well. Getting the heat from every direction now.

Coming to my sites the usual 30% loss in traffic just like May or any other broad core update, once the update started rolling.

When you usually get the 30% loss of traffic as they roll out the updates, has the traffic ever bounced right back much by the time the update completes?

Yeah happens for a few of our websites, also the opposite - initially gains from the update then few days later nosedive to nothingness.

I agree with @AngelSeo Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. And sometimes after adjustment or something like that takes place and then the rankings come back. But nothing is for sure.:P

I'm witnessing unusual bump in sales in one of my websites but traffic has dropped.

Made a good number of white hat links past couple of months. Lets see how G reacts, my properties are dancing for now.

Fingers crossed i am one of the lucky cases.

I also cross my fingers for all the other members on BHW.

And hey didn't G said some time back that they won't do major updates around Christmas!

Hurts many e commerce stores when its peak season.

Explain the situation. Usually, I do that at the start of a working relationship. At this point I'd just tell them that during updates, random jumps and drops are part of the process until G re-evaluates and settles down. Only after that we can analyze and gather data to see what can be done to improve if the results stay bad after the roll out is complete.

It helps if you never make guarantees and promises you can't deliver on. If they know the general process from the beginning, and you provided them with the results, they will trust you to figure things out.

Dunno for me this is looking like an update thats going to cost me north of 30k p.m in lost revenue, we are still a small brand compared to the other players.

If my SEO guy came at me with that same excuse id go and find someone else.

I understand what your saying but when a business has staff losing this much income could result in staff loses then you have an set guy telling me "to trust them to figure it out" I know where my first wage bill or outgoings would be cut.

I've not done anything different my content is decent enough but know I got sites like Amazon categories pages pushing me out of page 1 totally.. It's just day 1 of the update for me so I'm not stressed about it too much I figure it's re-sorting at this point I can't see what having 4+ Amazon category pages is providing anything relevant to the user at the moment unless its all about the inner backhand workings which of course they say don't happen...

In my experience, if traffic has gone up it is positive, if it has gone down it is negative. It never happened to reverse throughout the process of propagating the algorithm. At least for my niche.

At the moment I had a 40% increase. I'm basically recovering from the May update.

one of my sites is down around 25% - first time I've witnessed an update with a large site.

Why does everyone keep saying wait 2-3 weeks? Are there going to be smaller tweaks coming in addition to the initial change?

Exactly.. John Muller said no updates this year.. I felt so relaxed cause things were beginning to take shape.

At this juncture we need to protest, get your Placards SEO guys, we are going to silicon valley.

Hahahahahaha.

Mehn!! Google is hurting my feelings!

Perhaps G became too big? Maybe its time for little people to move out to another platform and let the G deal with its own problems?...

Go to social networks and check on the most famous SEO gurus. 99% of them dropped like a rock.

Maybe they'll stop pandering to Google now. One can only hope the webmaster class realizes Google has murdered the free WWW.
Its freaking counterproductive for them to do it. Really no idea why they followed this path (I mean, money, sure, but long term is killing their profit as well).

Big G is killing me)) -50% of my daily traffic so far. Hope for the best in next 2 weeks.

I see increasing traffic and a lot of volatility in the process. Not sure how to react :)
