Schema FAQs in SERPS

Hi guys, I use schema FAQs on my pages, but I am not sure if it's having a negative effect on traffic numbers.

I answer the question, for example, how to tie a shoelace (not the actual thing I answer) so people can get it starting from the schema dropdown. Now with no one clicking the page, I am not getting the traffic.

Do you think this is good or bad? In the schema answer, I have an affiliate link so anyone looking to buy a shoe lace (for example) could click on the link.

If I decide to remove the schema, add the question regularly in the text, do you think this would harm rankings?

Using schemas is good and you have done the right thing. The problem is having an affiliate link in the answer.

Google uses schema markup to show appropriate answers in the Knowledge Graph panel. It will pick only good quality answers that provide value to the user's question. You are making it low quality by adding an affiliate link. Remove that and see if you have better luck.

The schema showing isn't the issue. On all the pages it is on, they rank really well (top 5 for the queries I want) so the showing of schema isn't the issue.

What I am saying is because people can get the answer in the schema, they are not clicking through to the site. Yes they can click the affiliate link in the schema box which would still work for my affiliate sales, but I am probably missing out on 80% of traffic actually clicking on to the site as they get the answer/link they need from schema.

Yes, you are right. That is the big steal that Google does. It can get away with it. They show the answers on the SERPs and visitors do not click through to the site. G is capitalizing on your hard work. Can't do much about it

Well I can.....I can take the answer out of the schema FAQ so more people will click through to the site
