Is my purchased domain slapped??

I purchased a two year old domain from freshdrop.net, it shows as having 23 backlinks, all blog type ones.

I have built three keyword specific pages on this domain, got a hubpages page up, pinged it, got one page indexed, and also purchased some good quality pr4 backlinks (these havnt been found yet by google) it has also been submitted to all the "easy backlink" type sites, like quantstat, ratemysite etc etc which give you a front page presence just by visiting their site with your URL at the end.

However... when i do a search for my keywords my site is nowhere to be found, even if i search for a huge sentence, if there are ANY other sites on the internet with that sentence it shows that instead of mine, only when i search for a 100% unique sentence only found on my site does google display it.

Also the page is "unranked", not even PR0. To add to my suspicion when i tried to digg my site, it said i can't because this domain has been reported as spamming (!!!)

I'm tending to think i've purchased the worst domain possible This was going to be my first "white hat" site which would give me experience and a grounding in making money from purely "good boy" antics.

What's everyone elses opinions?

Don't give up yet. If it is whitehat add the url into Goog analytics, watch for the spider and then give it a couple of weeks. Big G will see the whois data refreshes and you'll probably be fine. Go work on a different website in the meantime so you're not constantly freaking out about it. try the "site:www.yourdomain.com" in goog to see if it is indexed after a week or two

Google is very forgiving, just build your site as normal. What I'd do that you're not already doing is ping your site once a day with Pingler.com

Also try to get a few high PR backlinks to help nudge Google a bit.

This pretty much same thing is happening to me right now as well. I purchased a 6 year old site. about 9 posts are indexed and none are ranking for anything. People keep telling me to be patient and the rewards will eventually come. So I'll just keep adding new content everyday and keep on building the backlinks in my spare time when I have down time from working on my other sites.

basically what everyone said is correct. just as a note of interest, when you transfer ownership of a site "and" IP address space, google will nip the site, sometimes for a day sometimes for a year.

what they test for ( I think they test for based on observation only ).
history of the new ip address ( is it a spam home ),
history of the owner ( in case you did not know, google owns a registrar, this is how they know everyone's domain and the owners name, does not matter if it's a private registry )
Changes in the web design ( they are looking for a privacy policy change, and TOS change and about us change )

after you buy a domain, move it over to your server, then open up your webmaster account and file the new domain, validate it with a google meta tag. What ever you do DON'T submit the sitemap via the control panel, submit it via the robots.txt. start to make the basic changes to the about us, tos, faq ... showing you as the new owner.

after you have clean up the site, optimise it for speed of loading, make sure there are no broken links, then submit the sitemap once ( and only once ) via the control panel.

Lesson I learned :
I submitted site maps via the control panel for every time I changed something, google got me good and de-indexed half of the site. since then I never submit the sitemap until I have it in the robots.txt file, then I just enter it ONLY once.

Never even considered this and it should have been obvious, probably explains how major search engines know to index new domains (new domains without inbound links).

How do you know all this information? Most people dont, even the most experienced. I wonder what makes you such and expert.
