[Journey] Quiz Mega Site

Regarding facebook ads. I haven't done it but this looks interesting and I think using a gif from the tv show/movie etc would work well.

Great idea on the reward. It works well. You are so close to where I was before starting this journey.
Believe me, I am so far away, just because I am one lazy mtf.

This site took me almost 3 months. Well, mostly because I have job, last months I got COVID-19 and there are many other stuff that I should took care of.

About gifs from tv shows - do you think it's a good idea?

Facebook can ban you due to copyright laws.

That's why I use only free from copyright img on my site. Except for tv and movie quizzes, I use screenshots there. It's fair use so I guess I'm safe here. But I am 90% sure that you can't use gif from GOT on facebook to advertise you quiz about GOT.

Do you write some content on a page, and then below the content there is a quizz related to that topic?
And do you somehow make people share quizz or quizz results with Facebook friends etc ? Thanks

Sorry to hear about Covid been there myself. it is good to prioritise and I am big believer that family comes first and that means you pay the bills.

As an encouragement you can do a quiz in as little as an hour a day.

Regarding Facebook ads I haven't tried it yet.

I need to look into it first. Copyright laws are complicated.

Will let you know when I do though.

I don't have any content on the site except for what you would expect from a business t&c's, fan's etc.

It needs to be remembered that I am not using ads or really interested in Google at this stage. Suppose it would be interesting to see if low content can rank but at the moment I am focused on what I am doing.

I don't force anyone to share but I do encourage it and have the option for them to do so available.

I also encourage this in my follow up sequence.

I'm just convinced that you should have standarts. And my quizzes always have 20 questions and 4 answers. Every questions with good image. And I'm not even native english speaker. So, that is a bummer too.

I agree on standards it's what will separate sites out.

I find 10 questions is the sweet spot for my quizzes but I am working on a 100 question quiz.

Imagines and the overall look are important if you want people to stay in the site or return

Btw I'm using free WP theme and changed it a little bit.

That way you can make decent looking site with little weight.

Can you please tell your average CPM?

As much as I understand the average CPM is around 0,5.

That means, if you have quiz with 20 pages and if each page has 5 ads you can break even with CPC 0,05.

Or there is some kind of trick?

Average CPM for US traffic can be over $1 and CPC can get even lower than $0.05.

Good luck and don't let it hold you back. A Lot of what I am doing in cut and paste. Also if you have Amazon where you are start with your own language.

The market might not be as big but it's a start.

That's a really good point. Thank you.

I did have a plan of posting in the groups about "What [TV/Movie etc] Black Friday Bargaind have you found." Then link to my book on Amazon, along with a few other products.

I am on namecheap but one of theory bigger packages. Ha doing things no problem at the moment.

Yes they don't like direct linking from Ads. They want click from your website. It's in the t and c's boring read but worth a luck. If you go with Amazon affiliates you play by there rules.

Thanks again for all the answer, I like to read and research so this is a lot of good info.

Thanks

Good luck bro. What is your exact traffic method? If it is social media, then you need to create content which is got viral. Who are actually your target audience, like age, gender?

How do you deal with all of the images? Do you store them in Wordpress? If you have an image for each question, plus the featured images, that's 11 images per quiz. That would surely slow down the site once you get more quizzes.

First of all AMP.
Second of all - my images on site weight less than 300 kb.
It nothing.

Not much of an update I'm afraid been working on a campaign for black Friday and the start of advent.

Going to give ads a go on facebook for one of the quizzes. Will then look to build a custom audience afterwards. Shot a nice video of someone playing my quiz and getting two questions right and one wrong.

Bit of psychology in play on the video as have shot pov and show a question most fans should get right but the user getting it wrong.

Big couple of days ahead with a potential reach of 500,000 in different groups for three quizzes.

Could be a test of my hosting.

Not bad idea.
Which video maker do you use?
I thought about making video with concerned man or woman on one side and 2-3 questions on the right side.

I've been following this journey and I'm also taking part in it. I've made my own website with the intention of using quizzes and various other quick little games. My question for you sir is do you make each quiz on your own? I ask because I notice a lot of popular quiz sites have quizzes made on othersites with the shortcode just taken and embedded it. Would you recommend making my own or embedding a couple to start off and get it up and running. Thanks again and I'll be following this thread!

All on iphone. Camera and imovie. Dont need anything really flashy for what I am doing.

With regards to the subject of the video I would shoot POV. Theres a lot of psychology and neuroscience behind it. Also spit test between the person winning and losing. How you frame this can make a big difference.

I guess it depends on what you want to do. I am looking at brand and long term so I create the quizzes myself.

The last thing I want is for someone to go "oh I have played this before".

I certainly take inspiration from other quizzes and often mimic their questions bit dont directly or fully copy another quiz.

So you are filming point of view, got it.
Is it vertical video?
