Not exactly, duckduckgo search engine was built because they found google to be using too much data of users and that was their USP. You can always learn from your competitors.

I'm not against learning from competitors. We all learn from our competitors, otherwise how do we improve our sites to rank higher?

Wasting time trying to figure out competitor's exact PBN is not worth it, and makes no sense in my opinion.

It makes sense, but at times I think everyone goes down the rabbit hole of curiosity. Even if you find a network, will you ever know the extent of it? Maybe yes maybe no. Agreed, it really is not worth the time to dig outside of personal entertainment.
