Sandboxed - Questions!

Hi,

Recently, one of my sites got sandboxed, I was ranking 5th for my keyword and I've got a few good links coming in. I've been shot down to about 700th now. How do I get out of this? I'm still getting traffic for a bunch of long tail keywords. If I get some high PR links coming will this help me regain my position? Also, how long did it usually take for you guys to get back up there?

A little bit of newbie question although it's still something that hasn't been figured out completely.

And it will never be figured out unless someone will steel a big G bots algorithm

It really depends, it may take a years but sometimes couple of days. You can predict it, just don't give up!

Most probably, you'll come back within a few months.

But I don't know, and no one will ever know too.

Google's algorithm was never cracked.

I have personal experience with this effect.

Keep building links, as many as you can. You'll be back no later than the end of April 2010 - and by this time, you should be number 1. It may well be a lot quicker - my last sandbox prison term was almost exactly 3 months.

I had exactly the same experience, except it only took me 2 months until I was back and this time sitting pretty at number 1.

Just keep building links...but now try with more quality links.

• Top article dirs
• buy few high pr blog posts
• digg
• press release
• ...etc...

Absolutely...even though you think google sandboxed you, the only way out is to gain respect through authorative backlinking

Right okay, thanks. I thought it might of been just that but you know.

I'll see how many high PR backlinks I can start getting.

I've sent in a request for reconsideration but haven't really received a response as of yet.

You might not be sandboxed, as my site experienced the same thing 10 days ago, many KWs dropped from page1,2 to position 700+, I didn't do anything during this 10 days, no fresh content, no linkbuilding. Today all the KWs return to their original positions.

Don't think of the sandbox as a bad thing... think of it as a temporary setback, but you need to keep the links coming in at the same rate. And when you're back (within a few months usually) you'll be back stronger

You might be right. I'm back now! Not 5th where I originally was but 7th. This might be because during the downtime I had changed quite a bit.

Still though, better 7th than 700th.

I'm also curious about this.

One of my category pages was no where to be seen until earlier this week, when just 2 backlinks from angela type backlinks were indexed in Yahoo, and that page shot to #6 in Google.

I've continued to build backlinks, but today noticed that the category page is now nowhere to be seen. Same with my forum. Will it be okay to continue building the same type of links (from profiles?)

Now I check, they have all disappeared. (They are still indexed though)

You need to write some articles and post to ezinearticles.com. You need to prove google that your site is a good one. Also, if you have linked to many sites recently, try to remove those backlinks.

my longest incarceration was 3 months.
as said above by the other guys, keep building links, keep building links, keep building links (with a slight preference for white/greyhat).

also, don't forget the Golden Rule for dealing with Google: Never, ever, ever contact customer support (unless everything you've done was completely legal, and even then...)
