Currently I have my url structe as;

https://www.XXXX.com /Catergory/Post name

I want to change it for

https://www.XXXX.com /Post name

I have 120+ posts to change. Is there a way I can do the entire bulk? If I do so will it effect my traffic ? how can I change this to the entire site ?

So I assume you do not use wordpress, as this is just the permalink in WP.

Word press Yoast setting

Or WordPress permalink setting.

Or old way with folder structure

Index.php/name of category folder /page.php

Example
Www.redarrow/idiots/idiots-on-the-beach.php
Www.redarrow/loving-people/lovin- people.php

Folder was
Idiots
Loving people

They're also the kw on this example.

You can be crafty as well.

Lookup a top web 2.0 look for something trending

Www.donald-trump-affair.com/donald-trump-love affair/donald-trump-affair-love.php

That would give you
Domain as trend
Folder as trend
Page name as trend

Kw
Donald tump affair
Donald Trump love

Lol .

Yoast SEO plugin
Rankmath SEO

Both has this function builtin, just find the option, turn it on (trim the category text in URL slug), go to your permalink and click save again, if your blog is new, don't worry too much about this, if all articles are already indexed, then maybe just redirect them, or just update your sitemap again and resubmit and let Google do the left things.

You can do that by using Yoast plugin or even from permalink structure. If you just want to remove the category from the url try using a plugin that removes showing category from the url.

If you are using wordpress, Then change the permalink setting at admin.
1.Seting>>permalink
2. Select "post name"
You are all set.

Yes, it will effect site traffic. It would cause temporary traffic lost.

You must do a 301 rediection of old url to new url. To remove the old url from google, send url removal request at google search console.

Thanks. I actually have redirected all the posts. Will this have an impact on my ranking ?

Yes you may experiance a change in ranking, especially with your very best keywords, but most should last a couple of months, and not drop by much if they do.

There will be traffic loss for short time but it will be back to normal after some days
