Help me understand how Pinterest works

Hi,

I have a very newbie question in relation to Pinterest and I hope you don't mind helping out if you can. I just can't seem to understand the basics, what to do once I join it. I've read a few guides and journeys but the answer never really jumped out at me, maybe I overlooked it or I overthink the whole thing.

For example I've had some success in the past with Instagram and Twitter because I knew what I was doing. I would sign up, post quality and unique content and follow people in a similar niche hoping they follow back...and keep at it. With Pinterest, maybe I get confused in the whole Boards & Pins thing and don't really know what to do.

Should I focus on making new boards, posting my own pins or pinning other posts to my boards? I guess a pin is the same as a post in Instagram or a Tweet in Tweeter, so I should pin my own content rather than use others', right? Maybe the whole thing that throws me off is that on top of a pin (post/tweet), there are the boards. Why does it matter which board I pin my content to? If someone follows me, won't they see my pin regardless of which board it's on?

Basically, if I just join Pinterest and I want to grow on it and get traffic from it, what should my priority be? Following others, create boards, pin my own content or others'?

1. Don't bother following more than a few people that you want to repin from. Follow for follow does not work on Pinterest, and your followers are basically useless. Pinterest is a search engine. You will be found on someone's home page or in their searches. Them following you is nearly irrelevant in the algorithm.
2. Make 5 boards that have targeted keywords in the name of the board. Stuff the board's description with relevant keywords. Pin a few pins to that board from other people, and then pin your stuff. Your board's keywords matter for Pinterest SEO.
3. Warm up your account with no more than 15 pins a day for a month or so. Their spam algo is strict and erratic.
4. Pin your own pins ONLY ONCE. Don't repin your own pins. Every time you want to pin a URL, make a new image.
5. Pin the same URL at least 48 hours apart.
6. You should pin 95% your own content and 5% from other people.
7. You do not need to pin 100 things a day. Aim for 3 to 15 pins a day.
8. Learn Pinterest SEO. Keywords on Pinterest will NOT be the same as keywords on Google.

interesting on Pin your own pins ONLY ONCE , in fact i never repin others pin
I does can get 10k++ followers , and a lot views

but clicks wise is not much

Come pinterest is Easy to so call get lots of impression but end of the day no use , important is Click on the link. That is a thing no much users managed to get to be honest. I look around Pin interest side here and quite a lot don't get much clicks but impression is a lot.

One more thing, Pinterest " seem doing some changes recently ? " ???

I not expert on Pin interes, I not a person just depend from one source just because can get traffic better than other source so I will just aim Pin interest side.
I just random do anything I can find and discover

come Pin interest I just share my part , I Only just pin my site stuffs
and Yes there are other people repin my pins

but come clicks on the pin is not much , impression does a lot
