Good luck on your journey. Have you tried any automated trading based on previous trends of a given stock/market or do you do everything manually?

Automated trading doesn't work. If you think logically about it for a second, a robot that can make good profits, for a couple hundred dollars or even cheaper. Does that sound realistic? Its all scam.

Thanks. My son started 6 months ago and is chasing his tail. I feel as though I am on the journey with him. The highs and mostly lows. He has invested in signals and strategies. And because they don't work, he is learning the long hard way. I am sure joining an excellent forum will help.

Yes, just tell him to do the opposite what the self-proclaimed gurus (pretend to)trade over there. Because only a failed trader becomes a teacher.

Forex trading is my dream to get into for many years and just like you mentioned the retail traders keep failing and I am also in the same boat.
You say you stare at the charts and see patterns and act on that and that is exactly how I know you are legit
Would you ever consider selling some sort of course that doesn't just tell you about what are currency pairs and pips but actually what kind of patterns to look out for etc if so how much would you be willing to charge

To be honest, I don't think I could write it in a way for people to understand, because its the way I learned and everybody is different. Its the same with languages...I learned more languages, but only got the basics in school and then learned by actually using them, reading, talking, listening...I know the grammar, but I can't teach it. If I had to teach english, for example, I couldn't explain why this and that...I just know how its supposed to be, don't think about why. If that makes any sense.
When I trade...I take everything into account, not just the chart patterns(which repeat themselfs, so its the easiest thing to learn), but also technical and fundamental analysis and I check the reaction of the "news" on the chart...because the news aren't really important, important is what the market thinks of them, not the numbers or rumors. And then as the last think, I check what most people are trading, what their SLs are and when I am on the opposite side, its my final confirmation that I am right.

Yeah I get what you mean but you say news I actually thought USD would fall during the election night when no winner was announced and boy I was wrong. Just a question when you trade and when you do look at the chart patterns are you looking at them minute charts, hourly charts or daily charts and do you trade minute by minute, hour by hour or daily?

H1, H4 and bigger. But I take my trading decisions off H1. Whats important is the time of the day...every session has different rules and meaning(every hour even...and even time within that hour is important), it will give you many clues if you learn the difference between Asian session, London and NY. It would take me days to explain it all, so I won't even start. lol

Account didn't survive the big dollar dump this month...starting a new one shortly. It normally takes me a month to turn $1 into $100+-, so lets see if I can make it again. But most likely after the holidays, when the PA makes more sense to me.
