My "Life Based" Twitter Experiment | Follow Along!

Seems as though people have all of sudden decided to love "true stories" from the point of view of "real people". Fmylife.com is an example.

Judging by that, I have created

Basically, I assume we all know the forum lingo people use when they agree with something.

I figured, I'd expand this into a large thing where I tweet nice, adorable and ultimately romance based things to see how many followers I can get. When I get enough, I can start plugging products.

Now, the account is based around two fictional characters Eric & Jess (I'm Eric).

So anyway, I've linked an autotweeter to my wordpress site with scheduled posts/tweets every 3-5 hours so that it will automatically appear both on the site and twitter.

Now, I just need to start getting followers. The people who are following me now seem to be actually interested as I am getting a relatively high click through rate to the website (about 50%).

Once, I hit a few thousand genuine followers I can see this thing taking off and then expanding quite quickly.

This may actually become a JV so if anybody is interested to experiment let me know.

May I suggest having a "+1" button on the site?
Simple bit of MySQL and PHP will do the trick just fine. In fact, throw in some AJAX so they never leave the page. That way users will not have to comment and can easily just click the "+1" button (very much like FML with the sucks or agree.)

I just believe users will stay on the site longer if they know they are having an impact. In the future you can then also sort by most "+1" etc. etc.

Other than that it is looking very nice. Really good idea.

Alright, I added both a "like" and "dislike" button underneath all posts.

I'll switch it around to +1, -1 now.

Edit: When I switch it to +1, -1 it goes unnoticed.

I would attempt to move away from the obvious "blog" theme. i.e. the categories in particular unless you plan on using them?

I can see what you're saying with the categories and you're right. I'll remove the "Categories" header but the "allplusones" act as a way for users to take a look at all the stuff posted in the past. Not sure of any other way to get around this.

I'll take a look at any possible themes to be used with this but the image I'm trying to convey is that of something very simple made by a couple. Trying to keep it as authentic and genuine as possible, psychologically target the audience you know?
