I have spend quite sometimes trying to figure out if a channel is monetized or not.

So I follow a quite standard procedure like looking for ads in the beginning, yellow line on time line and other attached ads on the side or at the bottom video.

What surprise me is that, channel that I am sure monetized is not showing any ads even after I open 15-20 of their videos.

The reason I am asking is I want to know if channel I try to use as reference can be monetized through ads.

if there is no adsense ads on it, skippable or overlays ads then it's not monetized by adsense
check description and they maybe monetizing using cpa or other products

Well I supposed as long as your content is original and follows the adsense guidelines then it can be monetized. Well never know until you apply for monetization and get approved

first go to your youtube studio ...then monetize and chack 4000watch hour and 1000 subscriber. if it is done then you will finf add

lol I do the same checklist too! Trouble is some niche they don't have ads but have hundreds and thousands of subs and millions of viewers and sometimes just put their website there. Knowing YT CTR I dont think thats really profitable so I sometimes wonder too how they monetize their channels.

There is nothing in discription. I asked one of the channel owner and he told me that the channel is monetized. So it's better to get channel monetized before putting out content then?

That's how I understand it too. In my experience youtube ctr is not that good. So I think there is something missing. Maybe they did monetize it with ads. Just we didn't see it?

he is asking how to check if another channel is monetized, not his own.

nobody has an answer?

everyone knows the rules, but that has nothing to do with ops question. he is asking if there is a sure way to check if other channels are monetized.

anyway usually i just open incognito tabs to check if they are. but again ads dont always play so idk

I just tried the incognito. it's actually working for some channel that I know for fact is monetized channel.

I am not sure for the rest of the channel though. I just got this feeling that they are really not monetized via ads. maybe the content is not "original" enough for youtube.

You can use tubebuddy plugin to have get idea.

If you cannot see any ads within a few days, it's not monetized. Don't watch 20 videos at once because maybe no advertisers advertise on that category at that specific time, but if you cannot see any ad for a longer period, let's say 3 days, that channel is not monetized.

Yeah, this is what I suspected too. Like some channel just less ads than other.
